Uhhh, has anybody got a sense of what local business thinks of this? If we get the wrong guy in here, those peripheral businesses will be impacted tremendously if the fanbase is obliterated.

Hotels, bars, restaurants etc all feel the pinch when football is bad. The last Dooley year had a major impact. Some businesses were down 35 percent from the good years. I'll guarantee you they hate it.

As a restraunteur with 9 Knoxville locations, I can attest to the fact that the lack of performance by the football program has had a negative impact on the economy for a decade. There's a trickle down effect to our economy associated with football that the administration isn't taking into account. Unfortunately, football is tied directly to the local economy.
