Hotels in Atlanta

I personally think Omni like i said if you can afford it is the best place. Its in the CNN center which is kinda cool. and close to the aquarium and World of Coke for anyone who wants to entertain of their children.

The Intercontinental in Buckhead is really nice. There is one buckhead hotel that is attached to the big mall there (lenox?) if you want to do some shopping in town.

Is the underground where they have the peach drop close to the GAdome enough to walk or should I take Marta? Or does anyone have any better ideas for after the game to ring in the new year?

Buckhead is the rich part of Atlanta. Yes it is very close to MARTA. I recommend the Omni Hotel if you can afford it. Its like two blocks from the Dome. and look in Roswell or Alpharetta. good area and about 15 minutes from downtown.

After the game it will be 1 hour or better to north atlanta.
Stay downtown if you can afford it or take marta out of downtown. Some cheaper maybe.

Sleepover at my house: $50 per person, (we'll stack'em up like wood in the basement) I'll fix breakfast for another $10 per. LOL:)

Perimeter is a very nice area. Good mid price range hotels that will shuttle you to the Marta station for free. Perimeter Mall is great and has good places to eat. Cheesecake Factory and several others of that nature as well as Fuddruckers for the families.
I checked the Holiday Inn Express/Perimeter, they have rooms for $53 per night and take you to the Marta station that is less than a mile away, for free. There is a Courtyard and two or three other nice chain hotels right there.
Buckhead is a step up in price range and only two Marta stops closer to the Dome.

We're staying at the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center. It's 149 a night, but 6 of us are sharing a room! Wooo!

I must disagree, check out Welcome to Nuevo Laredo Cantina! | Atlanta, Georgia, USA

Also, Decatur has some awesome restaurants, but it is a hike.

Buford highway has some really nice ethnic eateries.

For BBQ, Fox Brother is good: Fox Brothers BBQ - #1 Rated Atlanta Barbecue

Best steak in town, hands down, is at Rathbun's: Kevin Rathbun Steak by Chef Kevin Rathbun of Rathbun's & Krog Bar - Best Steakhouse in Atlanta
yeah i was just trying to give him something in the neighborhood of his hotel.

the people we're going with got us rooms at the Georgian Terrace. Don't know much about it but they said it was nice.

Nice is an understatement, you should def enjoy yourself. Its an amazingly beautiful hotel. I am staying at the Holiday Inn Capitol Conference Center. Its very close to the Dome and relatively nice. Bars, rest, ect. on site.

I'm a cheap college student and got reservations at the Baymont downtown. The reviews aren't bad and it says its only a mile away from the dome. Does anyone know about it?

I know they've recently bought it from another chain and have done an exterior facelift, dunno about the inside. The one baymont i've stayed in was in North Carolina and was nice enough. It is immediately off the interstate. you can walk to the dome, but the hill going up International Blvd is a little steep. not too bad though and it's only for about 3 blocks. then it's back downhill toward centennial park and the dome.

Thanks! My friends and I could care less but my parents got a room there too so I was afraid if it sucked they would not be very happy

hotels downtown, but got a room for two nights at the marriott northwest which is 10 miles from the dome for $67 a night. not bad for marriott.

What about the Sheraton downtown on Courtland. I got a pretty good deal on it. Is that a pretty good place? Close to everything? thanks

The Hampton Inn at Perimeter is where I'll be for $54 per night. MARTA to and from.

I've ate at an El Azteca, but not the one at perimeter. I'll recommend it and Nuevo Laredo to anyone.

the sheraton is good also. its right across piedmont ave from the baymont. so the same walk to the dome as well.

so are there any good bars and clubs around midtown to celebrate a win after the game and ring in the new year? what about underground Atlanta?
