Yeah, it sucks.

Holiday Inn Express is probably the cheapest option w/in walking distance to the Dome. Lots of tailgating outside too.

You could take the free hotel shuttle to the airport and get on the Marta in the terminal.

Good to know this, I was thinking this route since this seems to be the cheapest route for hotels.

What are you worried about a gun permit in ATlanta? The only people carrying guns seems to be UT players. I am sure this post will get deleted too unlike the anti-Atlanta statement.

I'd like to stay within walking distance of the Georgia dome for a fairly reasonable price. Anybody got any advice on which hotels to look into?

anywhere u stay around atl u can ride the marta there are stations all around to get on. the further u stay the cheaper, just get close to marta station. easiest way i have found in and out of city ecspecially on new yrs

Omni hotel, kinda pricey but you can spit and hit the GA Dome.

That would be the first attempt to clean that building in years.

How much would a cab cost, are they readily available in the area? I think Marta drops off at the dome I just have to see how far the sation is from the hotel.

I just booked two rooms at the Omni. I got a senior rate of $195/night. I guess "old" does help a little at times. The thought of fighting the Marta crowd post game was keeping me at home. It was terrible the last time we went to the dome.

You made a good choice.

The key to the Marta usage is to not try and get on the train as soon as the final gun sounds. Relax in the dome for a while. The dome has great food and places to sit around and enjoy the win. Go to the Marta station about 45 minutes to an hour AFTER the game.

Very nice place to stay. The walk to the Dome from there is a HIKE!
As for the underground, if you are into Hip Hop, then that is the place for you.
