Hotel recommendations?

If you are still looking there is a holiday inn and a hampton at the Clinton exit (121?). Perfectly safe. I live about 3 miles from these hotels. You can walk to Harrisons restaurant across the street. Zaxby's, Firehouse subs, Hardees, Taco heIL, McDs, Wendys, etc all at this exit.
It is 22 minutes from there to downtown.

If you want to stay under $300/night and be closer to Neyland than you would be staying in Chattanooga take a look at these-
Hampton Inn and Suites near Papermill and Old Weisgarber.
Fairfield Inn and Suites, Holiday Inn Express and Suites or Country Inn and Suites in Farragut/far west Knoxville off of I-40 and Campbell Station. The first two are newer. Several good places to eat off of Campbell Station and Parkside (Turkey Creek area). I would recommend Connors for a great lunch or dinner.
Fairfield Inn and Suites or Holiday Inn Express and Suites in Lenoir City (I-75 and hwy 321), both appear to be new.
Personally, I would not stay at the hotels at I-40 and Lovell due to the proximity to the truck stop(s).
Don’t go near Merchants if you want safe and clean.
Have you tried Google Hotels? The site has a map and shows availability and pricing.

I stayed at a hotel out there a bit because of work, and I had a drug dealer beating my door down at like midnight because the person that double crossed him must have given the wrong room # on purpose. lol

Which hotel was that? Drugs might come in handy after Ole Miss brutalizes our defense.
