I'll be bringing my family of four down for the UK game. Originally I was just going to make the 3 hour drive back home but I think we're just going to stay somewhere after the game and make a weekend trip out of it.

So obliviously all of the hotels near Neyland are booked up, but where's a nice place to stay around the Knoxville area? I thought about maybe driving over to Gatlinburg or maybe just finding something off an exit on 75 before I cross back over to the coal mines. Just looking for ideas since I'm not familiar with Knoxville at all. Thanks in advance and I'm not sure if this belongs in this forum or somewhere else?

Might try Emory Road off of I-75. There's a few decent hotels around that area. It's I75 North of Knoxville. Stay away from Merchants, stay away from Callahan.

We are from the west side of the state and stay in the Farragut / Turkey Creek area, that game is a sellout which means most nearby hotels will be a two night minimum.
Don't know how old the kids are but mine liked going to UT Alumni Hall & Smokey Mountain Brewery in that area for our game day ritual.

I stayed in Harriman for the FL game at the Comfort Inn. Very nice hotel as I think it is fairly new. Plus free breakfast. Also did not break the bank like the ones around Knoxville.

Air B and B and make a weekend out of it at this point. Hotels are booked or insanely priced at this point in Knox.

Thats what I did for LSWho and we're still staying about 60 min out from Baton Rouge. But hey, it was $75/night and the owners cook a free breakfast until 9 AM. :) And, I'm only about 20 min south of the Abita Brewery and 20 min north of NOLA. Point being, Airbnb's and VRBO's are they way to go on busy gamedays. Much better chance of finding something affordable.

Surprisingly, there are several hotels with availability. You just won't want to see the prices...

Yeah I'll just drive back before I pay that lol. I already paid those prices on tickets. Never in my life did I think tickets to see us beat up on UK would be as high as they are this year.
Try the Holidayy Inn at Merchants Drive. It’s about 10 minutes from stadium.

Are you an outdoors family?

There's a KOA in Clinton TN and they also have cabins if tent camping in late October isn't your thing. Elkmont campground in the Smokys NP is another option.

There's a niceish Hampton Inn with fantastic views off exit 134. Its about 40 minutes from Neyland. Be wary of most motel stops along 75 unless you're packing. Rocky Top motels are must avoid.

Comfort Suites in Farragut. Very quiet and good breakfast. Lots of eating and shopping options in Turkey Creek.

Farragut is the way to go. Safe with lots of options around. You also have the shuttle from Farragut HS to campus if you want to avoid parking.

If you go to the Choice hotel site, you will find all brands under their umbrella. This includes places like Comfort Suites, Comfort Inn, Woodspring, Cambria, etc. Choice has a lot of properties off Merchants and Emory up 75. Using the Choice main site (or the app) you’ll be able to see all availabilities. The Comfort Suites are the best there, IMO.

It’s a really easy trip from that part of town right into downtown and the campus.
