OK, look...I'm not, repeat NOT, slamming on anyone in particular here, but can we as a whole please stop using the word "horrid"???

I don't know how many times I have come on this and other sports forums and seen that word used to describe a group of 300 lb offensive linemen or whatever...

The word is "horrible" people...or "crappy" or "junk" or any other word used to describe something or someone unsuitable.

Using the word "horrid" in ANY context brings visions of multiple made-for-t.v. Jane Austin protagonists clutching their bosoms in shock as Dear Reginald describes the "horrors" of the zulu war...or something along those lines...:cray:

This is a FOOTBALL FORUM!!! Can we all just man up a bit and stop trying to impress with our newfound vocabulary?

JMO, of course.

Let the flaming begin...

Was your 6th post really about how you do not like the vocabulary of the board as a whole?

Speaking of words that should be banned or not used on this board or anywhere (and I am not a PC cop)...get rid of the "gay" references, even gators. Fellas we ought to be above that level.

Some day people will look back and view the use of the terms to disparage homosexuals with the same horrid, er sorry, same embarassment as we now view racial epithets which were so common in the 50's and 60's. This has bothered me somewhat since I joined this board, and although my language can be profane, I seized this opportunity to opine.

Think about it, no need to reply. GO VOLS:eek:k:

Speaking of gay... my grandmother's name is Gaynell and she goes by Gay. Unfortunately her middle is James (named after the doctor that delivered her) so she might have the most horrid name of all time.
