Look at FLorida. Their offense was, well not very good. Their defense was great.
I would even say that UT's offense was as good as Florida's defense was good. In a 12 game SEC schedule defense is going to be the difference. I have little doubt that CBJ can get offensive production without having to have All-Americans at every position. I think there were arguable 8 players on UT's offense that are NFL starting caliber.
UT needs desperate help at outside LB. They are slow, slow, slow. Hopefully CBJ's gets Maggit back and gets AJ to trim down a bit. I think Sapp can play, and he better fits the profile of an outside backer in the 4-3, and there are some younger guys, but Dooley loved recruiting those 240 pd. LBs. UT needs some 220 guys who can run.
Pass rush. UT has not had much success in getting pressure. J. Smith looks the part, but it certainly hasn't translated into production. The 4-3 fits him better. I think Jordan Williams will flourish at end. If McCullers returns, he and Couch will be strong on the interior.
I truly think we will see improved speed with our corners. I think the scheme and issues caused them to be timid, which affects reaction and speed. Prentiss Wagner had all the signs of being a top level player until Sal showed up.
