Hope Butch Jones cleans house.......

Nail on the head.

Unfortunately, Butch tried to cater to the fragile egos of a couple of guys for two long and it bit him.

My thoughts exactly. Why he let this fester in the offseason and fall camp and then carry over into the season is beyond me. That is the real crime--that he waited too long to excise the tumors. Now they have affected the whole body and undermined a potentially great season.

I don't think Butch should be fired--yet (but I would let him know that this season is a solid F- from a coaching standpoint). I would give him a year to make some seriously needed staff changes and clean up this mess.

They all need to go.

They haven't played good football since Florida.
Shoop isn't anything close to what Tennessee needs to be a championship team.
Debord is an old dog you can't teach new schemes to
Butch is like Les Miles without the championship. He's going to do it his way if it works great if not he's going to patch the holes until the ship sinks.
Honestly Hart needs to get out of Knoxville too.

He should be. If you can't beat Muschamp then the writing is on the wall next season. Georgia, Florida, and SC will only get better and honestly we will prolly be lucky to tread water next season. He had his time and plenty of it to show the world what he's done and he screwed the pooch time and again.

It kills me to even say it but I guess Ware was right if you can't implement some power stuff you won't win many ball games in the SEC

The SEC has been ans always will be a power league.. fitness gets crushed.. Hurd would have Exceled in the I.. but nooooooi.. got to run the delay hand off up the middle

I am not sold on Butch and if he loses a few more like Saturday, he is gone too.

But for right now he is the coach! This is his team and program! If Hurd has been like this for weeks or months Butch should have shown him the door long ago.

You just can't have a cancer in the program!!

If there are more on the roster who don't have their hearts in it, then go ahead and get rid of their asses.. Do them a favor!!!!!

Even if it is your top players......

It sets a horrible example for the rest who want to be there and would love the opportunity to play....

At this time, based on what I've learned about Hurd not getting his way, makes him no better than Vic Wharton.

I am so sick and tired of cry baby ball players.

Maybe Jones will quit like he quit on his best players!

I am not quite ready to fire him yet. But I better not hear about a raise or contract extension in the offseason.

Butch needs to hire a REAL OC...In fact he needs to take a look at auburn's offense and all the formations they bring to the table and its works well...This offense is just so bad and hard to watch when we have so much talent to work with...He is trying to run a pro style offense out of a spread and that doesn't work.

I disagree with you, respectfully of course. I think there has always been those who didn't like Butch from the beginning who thought we really had a chance with Jon Gruden. That seems so strange to me. First of all why would a coach walk into a death sentence? How many coaches have ever consistently beat Saban? Freeze? But then he loses to Memphis etc. Butch is a good coach and the staff is good too. Every team or program that was in the shape ours was in has to learn a lot of lessons.

It took Dabo years to develop Clemson. Tennessee was getting beat by Vanderbilt, Kentucky, UGA, Missouri, South Carolina and Florida when Butch got here. It isnt an excuse but an scientific fact that it takes time to develop players. I cordially wish more calm rational minded football fans would post more. It takes time. Why panic? I dont get that honestly. I hate the loss as much as anyone on this board.

I believe those commentators at the beginning of the year said things that wasn't true and a lot of fans believed them and are still just repeating what they have heard.

I respectfully disagree. Clemson was never a powerhouse football program before Dabo. Dabo invented Clemson football as a powerhouse. That's a totally different thing. Tennessee already had a winning heritage and a national presence. It doesn't take really good coaches this long to rebuild. Look how bad Michigan was before harbaugh took over. Ohio State had a losing record the year before Meyers. Alabama sucked before saban and so did lsu. Look how fast Jimbo turned FSU around. Butch sold a lie from the beginning to buy himself time.

Butch needs to hit a homerun with his next OC hire. Fulmer hired Clawson which failed miserably and got fired at the end of that season,

I think CBJ will end up cutting some coaches. Personally, I'm hoping for what Neocon suggested the other night which was hire Major Applegate from Houston. Still would have to find a good O-Line coach but it can't be hard to get one better than what we have now.

Hire Kiffin back as the O-Line coach. After all those ass-chewins' he's probably looking for a new job. And his record at Alabama speaks for itself.

Cleaning house would have been easier before Team 120 took the field and began to metastasize. Now cleaning house will look like one of those interventions on Extreme Hoarders. Wonder how many dead cats we will find under those stacks of nrwspapers.

Everyone want to clean house?

Start at KNS. Fire John Adams. His articles make celebrations dull, and a bad day like nuclear fallout.

Either that, or somebody buy the Knoxville Journal and turn it back into a locally owned legit newspaper. Since USA Today took over KNS, they think we in East Tennessee give a rats ass about Vandy. We don't. We never did. We never will.

Then, go to the VolNetwork, and tell Kesling bye. Last time I turned down the TV and listened to the radio, we won a National Championship. "What a turn of events!" Child Please. I have heard eulogies more exciting.

And while we are taking care of radio, the Sports Animal needs to revue their programs. Less callers, better content, fewer horses ass hosts and guests.

Then we can let the new AD fix the program.

You mean for a better coach?

That agenda

funny how when all pistons are firing the same the engine runs fine. but when one plug goes bad the whole engine runs bad.

your agenda is a retired cop sitting on his ass with nothing to do but watch tv and complain.

win now at all cost..dont give a **** about the work it takes..**** that.

four years is a lot of time i agree..to much..but for ****s sake stop running pie hole.

I was told by an apparently that fulmer hired clawson who was the successor to fulmer when he left. Stated it was common knowledge. may have been but I never heard that and would be surprised even if fulmer survived how a guy without any UT ties was a successor to fulmer or anyone else so I agree a home run hire not would help .

You can't promise the sun, moon, and stars to these guys and not eventually have to pay up.

There's plenty of blame to go around here, but we've seen an inability to adapt and overcome all season long.
