Hope and Concern: Tennessee

not a bad assessment, but fails to mention the complete and utter failure of the 'clawfense', which was the basis of the offensive woes. not to mention the flip-flopping of the o-line.

First of all, Low wouldnt mention that because it incriminates the Fulmer regime. We all know he wont do that.
Secondly, last years woes really are irrelevant to the article in question.
Third, I agree with you, not trying to be a dick :)

Overall, its a better article of his. pretty fair.

If you guys want a good laugh, read what people have commented about us. Most have us losing to UCLA again.

I think people underestimate montario hardesty too....if he can be a leader and mentor bryce brown then we really could have something there!!! And who knows maybe this offense will finally be the right fit for crompton. I mean if he could relax and have fun out there and get that "deer in the headlights" look of his face then he has some skills...and im not really that excited about nukeese cuz hes a little speedy possesion type reciever, not the big tall throw a fade in the endzone type we needed...But no question the defense will have to carry us...

The whole offense will rest on the shoulders of our Offensive-Lineman. If they can estbalish a great running game then that will help the passing game ( as long as the O-Line gives the QB enough time to look @ his options )

I don't know, our quarterbacks were downright awful last year. Even when they had open targets they missed a lot of throws. Obviously, our offensive production will hinge on our offensive line and running game. I'm far from pessimistic, but I don't see how we will turn it around so much in just one year, offensively speaking.

Of course, there's always hope that a new QB coach and coordinator can come in and turn it around like in 2007.

Defensively we should be good in the back 7. I just hope we have enough depth for our front 4 to not be depleted later on in games. Realisitically I see us winning 6 to 8 games.

I agree, our QB's did look awful last year. But for some reason i just believe that Crompton is not that bad! I mean he didnt even look that bad back in '06 when he had to play in 2 games because Ainge was hurt. I really think the main reason our QB's & O-Line last year looked so bad was because of the complexity of that Offense.

& your 100% right about the D-Line.

It could happen. UCLA has a good coach and he is in his 2nd year. I'mnot part of the camp that thinks we blow them out at Neyland. I hope we do but they will be improved.

Sadly, these are some of the nicest words about UT we've heard from Chris Low in quite a while.

Low was right if you look at last year, but hope springs eternal, and this is a new year with a new coaching staff, and a $20,000.00 a year freshman of mine at UT

Nevermind offensive schemes, someone teach Crompton to stop starring down his targets.

I'd add special teams to the concern list. And I'm concerned about our front four stopping the run. It's sad that we have a defense built to stopping the passing game right now. If we actually had an offense that could put us ahead of our opponent and force them to pass, we might have something.

Biggest reason for hope: Playmakers on defense

Im sure Im not the only one here that felt like we had a better chance of scoring when the defense was on the field than when the offense was last year.
