This is my first semester at UT, and I've never been to a game at TBA before. I'm planning on going tomorrow night, but I'm not sure what the process is exactly. As I understand it I simply show up at the student entrance with my ID and if I'm one of the first 2100 I get a ticket, is that right? Basically can anyone tell me where exactly the student entrance is, and also whether or not I have to sit in my seat? I prefer to move around, and I'd rather stand in the concourse and watch at the rail, is that acceptable? Thanks in advance.

Well when I was there, up to the last season before Pearl that is, it was no problem getting in. Just show up with your ID and sit wherever caust nobody was there anyway. It was general admission in the student section so you could move around. But this could all be different with the excitement around the program and renovations to the arena.

You just show up before the game, walk in and they will scan your ID and you go sit down in the student section. You don't get a physical ticket. Tomorrow shouldn't be as bad....

BUT for the bigger games you might need to be getting there hours and hours in advance. Before the memphis game last year I was there 3 hours in advance. Before the Florida game I was there 9+ hours in advance.

Also the entrance: If you walk down lake louden boulevard and walk through the parking lot that is right next to TBA and Andy Holt Tower, if you go right (you will see an entrance) and keep walking till the end is fenced off... That is the student entrance.

Appreciate it Dickens, that's exactly what I needed to know.

You'll see people walking to the student section. So if I didn't explain it well (I'm not sure I did) you should be fine. Just follow the crowd.

Not sure when I wanna get there tomorrow. I'm gonna go at 3:30 or so and check out if there's starting to be a crowd, and if not, I'll go at about 5. Gates will open at 6.

There won't be a crowd at 330.

Getting there around 6 is probably fine.

I think there will be a big crowd tomorrow night. There's a ton of excitement around this season, plus:

1. Regular season opener
2. Arky is in town Saturday
3. It's Friday night (no school/work the next day)
4. New TBA
5. Temple is traditionally a good b-ball school

We'll see.
