I've been fairly bursting with pride since Tuesday evening.
Having followed my Volunteers for so long, to see an entire campus swell up and nearly blow the roof off a cavernous arena, was enough to turn the mood of our staunchest carmudgeons(witness the tuesday night 'I was wrong' confession from our own Hatvol).

In the space of about one year, an entire school and fanbase has been turned gleefully on its ears.
I couldn't be prouder.... Thanks Bruce.

Dane Bradshaw was greeted in the locker room Tuesday night by a beaming Tennessee athletic director Mike Hamilton.Their thoughts drifted in the same direction.

“Just how quickly things have changed,” said Bradshaw, recounting a conversation to put the past hours in perspective. Bradshaw had witnessed a senior night like this before, but only using his imagination.

“I just wasn’t sure it would happen when I was at Tennessee,” Bradshaw said. “It was just a matter of time before they found the right core people to bring that on.”

Highlight shows led with irresistible footage of Lady Vols coach Pat Summitt singing in a cheerleader outfit. Super Bowl MVP Peyton Manning spoke to the Vols beforehand and sat courtside. From Hamilton to UT football coach Phillip Fulmer to quarterback Erik Ainge to women’s basketball star Candace Parker, a face of Tennessee athletics was at each turn.

On the final night for the orange seats at renovationbound Thompson-Boling Arena, hardly one was empty. It was the culmination of a stagnant program’s remarkable reversal under Pearl.

ESPN cameras provided the window to all the excitement.

“They saw a lot of fun going on,” Pearl said.

“I think everybody is growing up,” Pearl said. “This has not been a long season. For some reason, we’re fresh and we’re hungry.”

hand me a cigarette please, I want to enjoy this a little while longer...

Great Analysis....I'm with you...I am so proud of my VOLS and I live out of state in enemy territory so I am loving driving around with my orange TN hitch cover! It was great to see the support from Fulmer, Ainge, Pat Summitt and Peyton and our great fans and what a game....our guys smoked FL and some of those shots were amazing. Bruce Pearl is fantastic and he has brought enthusiasm and excitement which we need to have for all our programs. We can all continue to bring respect to our University by the way we conduct ourselves and I think we did that at that game. Good luck to the Vols against GA....my blood runs ORANGE....can't wait for football season!!

It's nice to have a fun and exciting basketball team to watch after football season ends. If only football could just start back up in April or May..

It's nice to hear that last bit about still being hungry and FRESH. Last year this team was done. No legs whatsoever, which was a shame for CJ, Andre, and Stanley for the experience and talent were there to make run in the tournament. They just didn't have the bench minutes to keep up the pace that is required in CBP's system. Having nine deep this year that can all play significant minutes is the biggest reason they might be able to run deep in this year's tournament as long as a severe shooting drought doesn't commence.

And to think that next year they'll be 10 deep with more talent, athleticism, and experience.:shades: It'll be an absolute treat to sit back and watch the remainder of this season for whatever happens. Next year is the year when it really gets fun. Not that it hasn't been already. Thank you Coach Bruce Pearl.
