Hooker waived by Lions

Minnesota Vikings would be great for Hooker.

kevin o'connell can help with his development.
The issue for Hooker is age. He's already 27.

Jalen Hurts is 27 and in the same year Hooker had his breakout year at UT, 2022, Hurts was in the running for NFL Player of the Year.

Josh Dobbs seems like a veteran, journeyman backup but he's only 30.

Hooker got a late start for a QB.

His passes noticeably lacked zip in the pre-season games I watched of him. He never had an elite arm, but he also didn't have a pea shooter, so I thought it was a bit strange to see the ball floating so much.

He'll undoubtedly catch on somewhere that needs a QB 3. I think Miami would be a good fit given his skill set is similar to Tua's and given Tua's inability to stay healthy.

But the hope that we would ever catch on as a franchise QB somewhere has all but disappeared.

Inb4 " Heupel's offense not helping UT QBs have NFL success"
That's an odd take. I look at it like "Heupels offense is giving guys a shot at the NFL that otherwise would be working 8 - 5 somewhere else". Do you think Hooker was a hot NFL prospect before he came here? No, neither was Milton. They were both college rejects that got drafted BECAUSE of the Heupel offense. Just the facts.

I posted this scenario after Hendon's disaster on National TV. Deer in the headlights. Hate it for Hooker, but in the NFL you gotta produce, and improve.
