I like Dave Hooker. He tells it straight.

Jon Gruden to UT? Not happening, but Vols fans shouldn't fret

If I had my list of guys I THINK ARE REALISTIC. I know Kelly, Peterson, Franklin and some others would be wonderful---but not happening, so...

Mullen, Frost, Schiano, KIFFIN, Patterson, Cutcliffe...any one would probably be successful.

Mullin should be the target, I think.

Top five for you, and no Gruden--only viable ones??

Mullen doesn’t make my top 20. I’d rather have Kerry Davis... and I just made that name up.

Kerry has done well at Central Nebraska A & M.
6-6 last year and a trip to the Reynolds Wrap Bowl.
My sources tell me he may have some interest in the Tennessee job, but he's waiting to see what happens at Kansas.

Petersen is my top guy and he's realistic if he's presented the right opportunity. I truly believe he's not happy at Washington and wants out. You go offer him 6,7,8+ mil a year and give him what he wants. He will win big here and bring in tons of money.

It's realistic if Tenn is serious about winning and getting it right this time. He will listen but you can't just take no for an answer you keep coming back to the table til he says yes!

He’d bring instant credibility back to the program. Recruits would come running back and TN would be relevant again. That’s what a Petersen hire brings you. Pay the man. Make it happen.

He is terrible and knows next to nothing. That was a decent show before he joined it

Petersen should be 1 and Paterson 2. Not sure how realistic either guy is. I think Mullen would be like a mark richt at Georgia type coach 9-10 wins a year but can never get over the hump.

Bwahaha...and while you're effing around trying to be funny and get a like, Currie and I just got up from the table--we made our choice. Don't say I didn't try to get your input, funny boy.

Most would think Mullen is a good coach, but few argue that he’s a great coach. He’s not a coach the entire fan base can get behind. He’s simply Not the coach we need right now. 5 years ago I’d gladly taken him over Butch. We’ve gone the route of 9 wins- and the guy got fired. No need to experiment with that again. Go get the white whale, Currie. Get us the guy that the whole country stops and says, “wow, TN isn’t joking around anymore.”

I would say Patterson should be 1 and Petersen 2. Either one would be great though.

Most likely an 8-win P5 coach. I don't think TN is in a position to guess on another mid major coach.

If we got Petersen or Patterson, you'd see a new riveting era in UT football! Those have been my pics from the get go.

Respectfully, I disagree. I think he is exactly what we need to compete against the equally unexciting Saban and Smart. We need brains, coaching ability, and desire. Tennessee can recruit itself.
