Hooker is Starting

Today is probably hookers tryout to start for Florida. Even though it’s a weak opponent if he can hit open receivers then that’s a improvement

Hooker has one main priority today (which should be the main priority of any starting QB). Protect possessions without turning the ball over! Ever possession this should be the main priority. I remember an absolute absurd discussion on this board last year about turnovers and the OP stated "The importance of Turnovers in a game are greatly overblown". And IIRC he had several who agreed with him. May have been the silliest, most ill-informed thread I've seen here BTW. Rarely without some weird once-in-a-lifetime stat does the team losing the turnover battle win the contest. Of course it happens and probably will happen again this year in college football BUT protecting possessions by the QB is the games most important stat. Hooker had two last week. I am looking for zero this week!
If Tennessee punts on their first offensive possession due to being conservative, I may or may not incite a pillow fight riot in my house.

The only thing we can learn in this game is if Hooker sucks.

Him playing lights out against LA Tech means nothing.

Milton had chances the first 2 games and couldn't do it. He couldn't do it at Michigan How games does he need? He's not a QB
He's hardly played here. And he did hit deep balls at Michigan and in high school. Hits deep balls in practice. He is going to get another chance because of the upside. He really hasn't been that bad. I really don't get the JG treatment of him. It's insane to me.

He goes out and misses deep balls again He gets benched, so nobody should really freak out. Heup isn't Pruitt, he's not gonna keep him in there until he crumbles.

Welp, here you go.....Hooker and Bailey should both get a lot of playing time. They will each be able to prove if they can hit open receivers and not turn the ball over....yeah, I know, I know....it is TN Tech and not Pitt....but seriously, Milton was not hitting wide open receivers on passes 20+ yards....if Hooker and Bailey can do that, and prove they can do that, either one has the shot to take the starting position. If they can't hit the deep ball (or just do check-down after check-down), then we are still in the same spot we were in.

But, they both should have a half of a game each to show on the field what they can do....it is all in their own personal hands now to prove they can do what Milton cannot.

Makes this game a lot more interesting.

So that means many on this board will want Bailey next week? The only QB some like is the one that hasn't played

Milton still has the highest ceiling, I would rather him get some throw reps before we play someone, because he will be starting again.

Good Payton made up for the other 2 deep throws. First one he should have caught, and the next he hesitated on his route

Hooker isn't great, but he gives us a better shot to win than Milton.

That said, I'm gonna be ticked when we trot Milton out there against UF next week.

I’m not sure it’ll matter. This offense needs another year to be decent.
In the grand scheme of things for this year, your right... it doesn't matter. But you don't play a guy you know gives you 0 chance to win in games that you have a shot in.
