Hooker and cold weather

Strictly a guess - but I am thinking that people with little to no body fat might be more susceptible to the effects of cold than the rest of us. It would be a concern and precautions should be taken to keep him warm and his hands warm as the colder weather hits.

One of the physiological reasons for body fat is its insulation value.

Long sleeves and gloves go a long way.

A turtleneck isn’t a bad idea either. It seems like wearing that hood under a helmet could make it not fit the same.

It’s hard to operate when you are shivering.
He should be practicing with gloves on knowing that he might need them for the game.

Completely off topic of football, but I couldn’t resist posting this on the topic of low body fat and cold weather

Prefer a hot Hooker, but when the pickins are slim any Hooker will have to do.

I apologize if this has been addressed already, but apparently Hooker struggled really bad in cold weather last year. Temps will be in the low 30s on Saturday (and I'm sure going forward).

Does anyone know what happened here and if it was just an isolated incident?

Virginia Tech quarterback Hendon Hooker struggled with cold weather against Clemson, not a medical condition

Hendon Hooker Was Apparently Just ‘Cold’ During Scary Sidelines Scene

My question, based off that article, is what kind of things can be revealed through coronavirus testing? I don't really know of anything that would require immediate medical intervention. Anyone?

Maybe a few degrees cooler, but nothing severe. Current forecast is kickoff temp of about 50* dropping down to 40* in the 4th quarter.
That’s good news. Though I don’t buy into the whole Hooker can’t play in the cold narrative.

The Clemson/VT game was in the low 30's at kick... It will be almost 50 at kickoff tomorrow.

Between that, foreknowledge of a possible problem, and modern gear and sideline heaters, I'd be surprised if this will be a factor in the game.
