Hood Headline

It is a mistake. He should not represent our school.

The entertainment value in this thread is golden. It's amusing and sad to see adults defend at all costs the most important thing in their life. God. No. Family. No. Career. No. UT Football? Bingo. :lolabove:

So far, there's been

+ you don't know how to spell
+ nice grammar
+ your logic is twisted for even worrying about it
+ cops are generally worthless, especially if they don't support Hood
+ this used to be a great place

Hope you're not a cop? :eek:lol:
the new moniker doesn't change that you're a senseless dolt.

As to your commentary, you forgot to list the portions about rehabilitation, poor decision making in young teens, peer pressure by someone considerably older, your moral stands don't mean squat to rational decision making, what list of activities is OK for Hood, redemption / second chances, a way out for a troubled situation, likelihood of recurrence, seeking the lost sheep rather than those in the fold, etc, etc, etc ad nauseum.

I know we've been through your inability to process information, but please try a little.

forget discussion, we'll be awaiting proof of even limited reasoning capacity.

I get the mental picture of placing him in a room with a banana on a string hanging from the ceiling. We then observe to see if he thinks to stack and push the boxes in the corner to be able reach it.

We would have to bring some coffee and perhaps a book. We could be there awhile.

Don't you love it when pieces of human filth that never should have been allowed to stay here five minutes in the first place come crawling back under the cyberdoor like the cockroaches they are?

I am capable of understanding the difference in how an adult sees the world as opposed to the views of a child. I personally never restrained anyone against their will. Not saying I am a saint, just never did that. I guess I am saying that, as an adult, I am capable of seeing parallels between vicious crimes. FWIW, I don't see what he did as the "actions of a child". "Honey, Jimmy has Tammy tied up and is raping her again. I guess kids will be kids, Baby. Pass the butter"

Bottom line. Hood is on the team. He will play.If you don't like it too bad. there is nothing you can do about it. All the crying over it is not going to change anything. He's a big orange vol. Posi , 5150, be man enough to tell Daniel to his face what you think about him. Everybody knows yall just try to stir up stuff with all your hate. Do you really think anybody really gives a rip what you say?

another oldie but goodie! ! ! ! To me that says "I'm too busy with my lonely alcoholism and self-loathing to respond".

You're right. It is just very sad that UT (1) hired Kiffin when he was obviously unqualified to hold such an important position and (2) supports him as his actions continually reflect poorly on the program.

While I certainly don't agree with BigPapa, hijacking his username is pretty pathetic.

How is that if this is your third post?

You must failed on other screen names and thought this gem would do the trick.

He was more qualified than Fulmer.

Hood's situation is not in any way comparable to your examples. He is not a murderer and was not an adult at the time of this crime. Try again.

Some would say that the crime of rape can bear the same classification - and could warrant an equal or greater punishment - than the crime of murder.

For instance, the T.C.A. provides for that.

That's the Tennessee Code Annotated.

Some refer to it as, "the law".

You invoke his being a minor at the time of the incident in order to rationalize the act he committed. So, yeah, by the legal standard alone, he was not at the age of consent. But the "legal" standard is not the only such standard which exists, right? What about the age of accountability?

When I was 13, I knew it was wrong to help someone to tie a person's hands behind their back, place tape over their mouths (you know, to muffle their screams of pain, and prevent their ability to shout for help), and to then watch as they raped her with a plunger.

I don't know what you knew when you were 13, but I knew that was wrong. Maybe you and Daniel didn't. I did.

Lastly, please also recall that the judge remarked that the Defendant (Hood) had shown absolutely no remorse whatsoever - from the time that the crime was committed until the sentencing phase followin the trial......some TWO YEARS LATER.

Would you like to read the actual document? It can be found, here:
http://www.tsc.state.tn.us/OPINIONS/TCA/PDF/064/HooddaOPN.pdf

If he didn't know if was wrong at 13, and he didn't know it was something to be remorseful of at age 15, he might have a hard time picking up on the new playbook. I mean, really, isn't that what's most important here?

I'd like to see how many would continue to defend Hood's actions, and would welcome his inclusion to the team if he were a 5'5" DB who ran a 4.7.

Notably fewer, I would suppose.

Anywho, it ain't like he murdered anyone, right? Nah, just raped'em - but we need help on the OL, like pronto.

Is this a good second attempt at "trying again"? No? Need more? Just PM me to let me know if this is sufficient.

to me, in this case, it says that one poster has posted quite a bit and hasn't uttered one word worth reading, hence it isn't worth the time to continue having them get in the way of more worthwhile posts.

I believe in forgiveness. I believe in mercy. I believe in "second chances" where such can and reasonably should be given. Some "second chances" don't meet my personal, and notably narrow, criteria for when such should be provided. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
That a person may become more remorseful, grow more mature, find religion, or complete any other positive life-altering progression is both notable and commendable. However, the heinous nature of some acts prevents the provision of a "second chance". <o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
Some Examples:<o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
· I don't think that a pedophile should be allowed to work in any occupation requiring their involvement with children. Ever.<o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
· It would be foolish to date OJ Simpson, and hope to see other people. Or next year. <o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
· That a governor would pardon and commute the sentence of a convicted inmate because the victim expressed her/his forgiveness of the original criminal act. <o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
Unfortunately, these are neither extreme nor overly-exaggerated examples, but rather, quite apt ones in comparison to the case of Daniel Hood. <o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
I personally believe it reasonable to assume that your involvement in the act of rape - especially with a 13-year old victim - should prevent your ability to serve as a representative of the University of Tennessee, in any regard, including that which is automatically bestowed to you as a member of its football team. <o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
Apparently others more qualified than I, disagree with my assessment. That's ok. While I think it is a mistake, I can see where they believe themselves right in moving forward. <o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
Final Thoughts:<o:p></o:p>
For anyone who read the court transcripts, if I am not mistaken (99.9% sure), it was Hood's father who failed to provide the only adult supervision which was available at the time the act occurred (he was sleeping in his bedroom). Double-check if you’d like, and correct me if I am wrong, but I think that this is correct.<o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
The victim’s statement sounds to me as being, well, heavily scripted. I wonder how much coaxing / pressure she received from fellow family members to write it, if any?<o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
Just my $0.02<o:p></o:p>

lots of folks/fans feel the same way.........bravo for your 2 cents.now be prepared to be dogged by the immoral majority.i asked them if they would let mr.hood babysit their child........................no one replied!

I'm still just waiting for you to tell me what qualification Kiffin had to become head coach at UT.
At this point, what does it matter?

I can see that you want to beat your head on the proverbial wall in an eerily Quixotic fashion, so we're all just best served by ignoring you and letting you do so. Enjoy.

Don't you see 5150, they just sliced and diced you by saying how dumb you are and how smart they are?

Don't bother them with facts.

Well said, TenD.

BTW...Where is Kenny? Season over?

Hibernating. Originally only planned to be a six episode airing (no future seasons) - but they just re-signed to do 1-2 more seasons of 6-9 shows.

So, he's f-ing back!

Easily the funniest show on TV right now, if you ask me.

and we'll still be waiting on you or 5150 to actually post something worthy of an actual discussion.

no time to post anything new, your hero is in the news everyday w/ another blunder.

all i can do to keep up :p
