I haven't been on here in awhile, but when I read this story on ESPN I figured I needed to come over and see what the consensus from the fan base was, and I have to say I'm a bit surprised.
I remember around signing time a few months ago this kid's name came up on here and I was unsure who it was so I looked at forum posts from the past when CPF had recruited him to see what all the fuss was about and I must say there weren't many people defending the kid back then (in fact I can't remember any), especially when the kid's father was on here trying to defend him and someone got ahold of the court affadavit and shared it with the masses. Everyone on here seemed to agree as soon as they read that court document that the discussion over Mr. Hood should be over because of what he did, and it the thread quickly died out.
I'm not sure how I feel on the issue. I believe in second chances, but part of me says that just being able to live out a semi normal life outside of a prison sounds a lot like a second chance after this crime that was committed. Playing D1a football in the SEC is a priviledge, and one that I'm surprised this kid is getting the opportunity to have.
I hope this all works out for the best and Mr. Hood really has changed his life and can keep his nose clean. It appears that many Vol fans are behind him now and support Coach Kiffin's decision to offer him.
I'm just kinda surprised by the positive reaction to this by everyone on here on this, its completely opposite of what I saw just a few months ago. Makes me wonder how many folks have a real opinion/belief on this, or how many just follow their leader unquestioningly.
says alot about SOME of the fans on here :hi:
