Hood and Moody

more irrelevant drivel.

I could likely never forgive him in that case, but use my potential emotional response to bolster your stand doesn't help your argument in any way. The kid was 13 and we believe in rehabilitation of criminals in our society. If we don't, we should simply kill them all.

I could likely never forgive him in that case.

you should have just stopped there :hi:

see, that's how you and I differ. You can get the top line, clearly obvious with no thought whatsoever points right. It's the thinking things through piece that you're missing.

well let me clarify,if your sold on the kiffin clan as your savior.would it not make more sense to hire monte w/ lane as the hc in waiting ?
No. The Peter Principle applies to Monte. That's an established fact. Even if it weren't, his time is past to be a new HC.

Lane may fail but, like I said, he's done some very, very good things in the program.

Even if he does fail, his reestablishment of discipline will benefit whoever follows him... they won't have to break those eggs again.

if he proves to be the man, then he will be the man.

You don't show any indications that anything he does will be good enough to prove he's the man.... your bias is completely lopsided.

I supported Fulmer getting his shot to the bitter end. I probably wouldn't go that far with Kiffin but I do believe he should be given some slack.

Nope.... but your response indicates I hit pretty close to the truth. When you can't win a debate, start an argument, right?

no.ive just read enough of your posts here as well as on gvx and relize when it gets controversial YOU BACK OFF.

the easy answer would be monte the hard answer would have been gruden.

Posivol using the moniker "posivol" is like Jeffrey Dahmer calling himself "a connoiseur of red meat." That way neither you nor he imply any negativity. He's is now dead and maybe you'll just shut up.

It will take at least 4 to 5 years before we find out if CLK was the right choice or not.
What we do know right now:
1) He and his staff are going to work hard
2) They are going to stock the locker room with real talent
3) They expect perfection from the players on and off the field
4) They are going to coach the talent they have making sure they get the best out of each player
5) The players will be in the best shape of there lives

What we don't know and need more time:
1) Can they take the hard work and turn it into a W
2) Can they make adjustments at halftime
3) Will there system work in the SEC

Honestly, CLK was not my first choice as head coach. However, I am very impressed with everything I have seen so far. He has this team working harder than any other Vol team since the 98 or 99 season and he is teaching them how to be responsible as well as teaching them that they need to work just as hard in the classroom.
The work he has done so far is amazing but he is going to be tested once the games start. We have a tough schedule and if he doesn't win big and often there are going to be some of you guys calling for his head which is stupid.

Good post...

That's an honest, logical and pragmatic attempt at evaluating a coach who you admit wasn't your favorite for the job...

In other words....that was the exact opposite of the approach that posivol has decided to take when commenting on Lane Kiffin

Wow. You just haven't read all that many of my posts then have you? Most people accuse me of just the exact opposite... Ask Jake for example...

FTR though... I'm not all that interested in "controversies" that call for some kind of baseless conjecture or crystal ball assumptions. If I think I'm right, I'll argue til the cows come home. If I'm not so sure then I'm willing to be swayed and to allow alot of latitude to others.

Here's one thing I won't back off on until you change YOUR stripes... You've drawn a conclusion and show no indications of being bothered by facts that contradict what you believe.
While I'm at it... the suggestion that Monte should have been hired HC wasn't very "well informed" either (IOW's, it was ignorant).
