I've personally seen worse situations defended by the "enlightened". You are right, though. Sorry for the generalization. I shouldn't paint with such a broad brush.

My main point is: when is the last time you've had to worry about a group of Christians killing a couple because they didn't approve of the marriage?

So sorry to read things like this that still goes on in countries still living in OT biblical days. Those that are getting married w/out daddy or brother's approval should know that this can & will happen. These types of "honor killings" are rooted in tribal traditions where these kids, when growing up, should & would know that this will happen.

You keep screwing this up. These people didn't do this because they are muslims. As wtob pointed out, these are accepted tribal customs and tradition. As reprehensible as this type of thing is, not everyone shares western values...

However, originally trying to tie this to partisan ideology or now inferring that christianity is somehow superior because of this story is silly.

1972. Lots of neighbors and townfolk made it known, in no uncertain terms, that if a certain black man didn't cease and desist dating a certain white woman that his body would never be found and the woman would be disowned by her family and friends. The black man left town without his white fiancee.

Of the several white males that made the threat that I knew personally, every one was a Baptist.

I'm gonna make a WAG that this was not an isolated instance throughout various parts of the USA until about that time, maybe later.
