At the AD position before we do anything else. We’ve had coaching boards, post after post discussing coaches but hardly any discussing who to replace Fulmer with. I know several want someone with knowledge of the UT system and donors BUT honestly we need to probably hire someone outside of the influence of our broken system and inept, meddlesome boosters.

You really think Haslam is gonna let that happen??
Unlikely. The wheels were in motion to remove Fulmer the day he was hired as AD. I think he has another year but he’s done. As much done as Pruitt, if I had to guess Haslam will do everything to prevent us from hiring another coach until Fulmer is gone.

Not necessarily. There is a power group. If that group pushes in the right direction, good things can happen.

See Alabama hiring Saban....

Outside of the extension to Pruitt that was questionable, what are your issues with the job Phil has done? He’s assured every resource is available for Pruitt and football, retained a basketball coach that had one foot in California, made what looks to be a nice legacy hire in women’s bball, brought in donor money to expunge a huge deficit prior to covid, has supported every sport at UT assuring facilities and resources are in place.... we do realize his responsibility goes beyond football right?

The contract Fulmer gave Kelly Harper is absurd. He nearly tripled her previous salary and gave her 10% more than Warlick who was a much more accomplished coach. Who was UT bidding against for Harper that justified almost a 3 times increase in pay?

That deal makes it seem like Phil felt he was playing with house money so why not give it all away.

Because you can always count on a dishonest person to dishonest, honestly. It's the honest ones you have to watch out for.
I meant pull the brink truck up. Pay for his kids college. Give him a beach house. An all you can eat Calhouns coupon. Anything but get the right guy. Cheat to get him I dont care. Freaking tired of losing.

Money doesn't automatically mean wins. See Michigan!

I’ve been impressed with the job Todd Stewart has done at WKU. He would definitely be on my short list.

Isn’t her contract similar to other SEC or top ten program hires? Not sure 3xs but fair market value for the profile of the job, responsibilities... as for Warlick, there are a dozen other former long time assistants that could have carried on what Coach Summit built for the time Warlick did but that’s jmo

So her compensation should be based on what other coaches earn not what she is worth or based on her past accomplishments/record? If $750k a year is the average salary for for SEC/ top 10 coaches, why was Warlick so underpaid?

Came here to type the same thing........im not sure what all the Fulmer hate stems from. Best I can tell the only reason is because 1/2 of volnation wants him to step in and tell Pruitt to play HB (which he should not be meddling in) and the other 1/2 feels he should fire him mid-season. If, and that's a strong if, Fulmer is going to fire pruitt i am confident that he is smart enough to wait till seasons end (and certainly past early signing day in 2 weeks) AND unlike our other debacles will already have a coach in place ready to announce, vs a coaching search.

I have a pipe dream that he's already got Freeze on the line however he's being courteous and letting Liberty finish out their miracle season. 🙏 (but I know that has like a .00001% chance of happening)

Who do you think spearheaded the efforts to extend Pruitt? UTAD or Boosters. If anything, UTAD needs more influence from boosters.

He didn't retain Barnes. He all but almost lost him until Boyd intervened.
