Honestly, can this guy lead UT to a SEC/National Championship?

Jesus Christ

We need to beat Vandy, South Carolina, Kentucky, and Mizzou before we even think about beating Florida or Georgia or Bama
Which is why you hire a coach to do that....

Geez you folks need to think harder about what you type before you type it

I think some of you are in for a rude awakening as to the fact that it will initially get worse before it gets better and that’s regardless of who they hired.

3-4 years isn’t a realistic timeline

You need to face reality too. We are going to have sanctions plus we need to give it a few years then ask the question if we can win the SEC or a natty.

And I say this with hopes he can, and I will support the hire until proven otherwise. But objectively speaking, do you look at CJH and think “yeah we will be competing for an SEC-Championship in the next 3-4 years!”

I’m not sure I can say that.

If we were truly serious about competing, regardless of possible NCAA infractions, we would have broken the bank for a big time coach and not let them say no. Jury is out for sure.
I want steady thru this NCAA BS and a great offensive team that outscores the mid to lower SEC teams and beats them at a 90% rate. Florida, UGA and Bama will be beaten eventually if we are averaging those 30-40 pt games.

Reality is, UT had gone through 4 inept coaches. Reality is, UT needs to nut up and hire coach that brings UT into the championship conversation. That’s reality.

I don't know about 3 or 4 years but eventually... maybe?

If what he's accomplished at Missouri and UCF is any indication, our offense will be performing at a championship level. Looking at points/game he took Missouri from 127th to 48th in 2016 and 14th in 2017. Then at UCF he had a top 5 offense each of the 3 years he was there.

Defensively he needs to do better. We'll see if Kevin Steele can help him with that.

If he gets back to running the ball like he did in 2018 I think he'll win more close games (5 losses by 3 points or less in 2019 and 2020) and he'll have to win some close games to compete in this conference.

We are not a program that can attract a championship type coach right now. If you don’t believe me stay tuned to the presser coming up around noon

Your setting yourself up for disappointment, let's start with beating who we should and having some 8-9 win seasons

My lifetime isn’t a realistic standard for my university.
We continue to be an embarrassment

I googled (always a bad sign) UCF and Heupel.

Daniel Tosh from Tosh.0 is an alumni.
Coach Heupel was drated by the Dolphins and was a 4th stringer.

It's going to be awesome!!!!!!

Absolutely not. I had never heard of him and after doing a little research his teams declined each year. I’m going to say this loudly, IF YOU CAN’T RECRUIT I DON’T CARE HOW GOOD OF A FOOTBALL COACH YOU ARE, YOU WILL LOSE CONSISTENTLY. Top players aren’t coming to play for Heupel. I hope I’m wrong.

Tennessee has lost big time. We should’ve just kept Butch and rode his contract out.

I appreciate the passion that everyone has, and the opinions they share, but the real facts are we don't know, we don't know Josh Heupel's heart, we don't know how he can perform or win a Natty, there is so much we don't know. But what I do know is that I will support him, and the staff. I will not start with negative BS before we know. Give the man a chance!

When Dabo was hired do you think the Tiger fans loved the idea of hiring an assistant - with no HC experience to lead their program. Do you think they thought he would win a Natty, and out recruit the big boys. No... but he got a chance.

Not saying our hire will be a Dabo ... but he does deserve our support and the Chance!! #GBO

Why? The entire roster turns over in 4 art the most. He deserves 3 at the most.
