Now we can add Florida to the list of schools that are in the hunt for a new HC of their football program.

We also know that the Gators will throw the bank at their choice of a new HC and for his chosen staff members because Florida now hates to lose.

The ONLY way to hire the best coaches is to throw loads of $$$ at them nowdays, it's just the way the coaching market works.

The admin and BIG $$$ boosters at Florida ARE determined to hire the coaches/recruiters that will get the Gators back on top...Tennessee is not.

Hiring the best coaches nowdays is a bidding war and our past proves that Tennessee always attempts to go cheap and hope that tickets and merchandise will sell and make a big $$$ profit.

Bama learned their lesson and will spend whatever it takes to keep nick saTan and whoever he wants as coaches/recruiters on his staff and they are a powerhouse program in the country.

It's looking like Georgia has learned their lesson and has now learned their lessons and the bullFrawgs are now also a nationsl powerhouse on the rise.

The way Georgia is rolling now it's a very safe bet that their AD and big $$$ boosters will give their HC whatever he wants to keep moving up to beat Bama and take the SEC Championship and a National Championship.

Ohio State and Penn State also seem to have learned their lessons and Clemson will also probably give Dabo whatever he needs too after finally Winning it all.

Being totally Honest it's takes BIG $$$ to buy the best coaches that are also the top recruiters and top recruiting is a MUST to building a Championship Team.

Hiring a HC and new staff is still a crapshoot even if we were willing to throw the bank at a new football staff and Honestly there's nobody that's a guaranteed Success to build us back up to beat UGa, Bama and the top teams now.

I seriously fear that I'll never again see my beloved Vols as the SEC or National Champions but I sure hope I'm wrong.

I wish I could win the lottery and have a Billion $$$ to play with because I'd put up the $$$ to buy the best coaches/recruiters in the country.

I'm sure I will get blasted for this because it isn't Gruden, Kelly, or Stoops but what about Brent Venables or Matt Campbell if we don't land one of the three big fish? I'm not saying settle for those two and try like heck at the aforementioned 3 but Venables has a defensive mindset and strong southern ties. Works for a great boss and has developed elite talent ( he is similar to Kirby Smart). Matt Campbell, I mean the guy has beat towo top 5-10 teams at IOWA STATE!!! He succeeded at Toledo(I get it not another MAC coach) but if you can win at Iowa Stateyou have to be doing something. Let the blasting begin

UF is lot like UT in that they tend to hire on the cheap and up and comers. Meyer was one when they picked him up from Utah. It would surprise me not if they give Charlie Strong a shot as he's rehabbed USF. They are not going to be allowed to officially talk to any coach that has a job by any AD worth his salt until the season is over other than Lane Kiffin that is.

We always look in the Mac and other second tier conferences for an up and comer who has dominated in those leagues. No reason to think we won't do that again.

Great point. Everybody dogging Currie because no news has broken on Jones. It will. Patience Grasshopper.
Just so I know, when can we start calling Currie out?

We suck. It's his JOB to fix it. So far, I am seeing nothing to indicate he is even concerned.

For the 2nd most profitable football team, that buyout is peanuts!

Agreed. I think we can get Campbell for about 3.5 - 4 Mill. If we were planning to pay a big name Coach 7 million then in if you average it out the 9 million will be recouped in 3 years. And that is IF the big name coach for 7 mill is not coaching anywhere so there is zero buyout. The numbers will work if we can get him. I think the guy really wants to build that program up for a good 4 years first though and then move on to that top tier job. Hope I'm wrong and we get aggressive with him.

NCAAF | Coaches | Salaries | USA TODAY Sports

Go down the list and see how many of the top paid coaches are 7-5, 8-4 and worse. The Coaches Salary gives little to no guarantee that they will produce a winner. Plus ONLY recently are Coaches getting big money up front. It used to be you arrived at the big bucks after being successful. Coaching $$ doesn't equate to wins and building a program.

And speaking of that........the Orange Sheep could give Gruden 50M and have no idea if he would be successful at UT. But it would make you feel better........:eek:lol: :eek:lol: :eek:lol: clueless!!~

Neither you nor anyone else knows what Currie will do because he's never had to do it as the AD. He gave fulmer the news because the sitting AD didn't have the balls to do it himself. Before the children go for the tar and feathers how about letting him do his job on his time frame? It is what he was hired to do. You snowflakes need to sack up.

feels like De Ja Vu all over again -TN will find a way to screw this up. We will sit around wondering who our next coach will be while good coaches sign on with other teams.
