I’m really scratching my head on this one. What was the point of taking JG out of the game for the last 60 seconds if you’re just going to let Chryst hand it off 4 times?

I’m not bashing CJP, just really curious about this decision.

Game was over, no reason to risk getting JG hurt. Let Chryst get a little feel. Those are my guesses.

I just remember him saying he was only going to play 1 QB and didn’t want the other guy looking over his shoulder. So I thought it was kind of interesting that he’d do that. Nothing to gain from it whatsoever. Chryst comes in and throws a TD and then everyone is pissed that he didn’t play the whole game. And playing as little as he did is almost an insult to the player.

It’d be hard to throw a TD when his only job is to hand the ball off until the game ends

Because Pruitt has much more integrity than throwing the ball to score when the game has already been decided unlike WVU.
They may have a kid in a Heisman race, no issue with them padding their stats. We certainly did it over the years. I seem to recall Peyton tossing one late when we were up 31-13 on Georgia that had Jim Donnan ready to fight Fulmer.

It seems he is giving jg some rest before that slog of a conference schedule coming up, give him UTEP as a tune up before Florida.

I think Florida probably stomps us. But I can’t really tell if WV is just that good or if we’re just that bad.

Why not, obviously Coach thinks he earned some playing time. As a grad transfer/5th year senior he has 1 year of eligibility to play and that's it.

Chryst will play next week.

Pruitt said so in his presser.

He wants to have both QBs ready to play.

JG is the starter, but Chryst needs to be developed and JP plans to do it over the next two games.

You think JG was looking over his shoulder with 60 seconds left down 30? You’re trying too hard.

The game had already been decided they put the entire second team in to play.

If our QB had a Heisman Campaign going, we would have let him have another easy TD too. Can't really fault them for that!

And maybe CJP promised Chryst he would get into the game.

My question is "why not?"

The way we were not blocking there was no sense in letting JG take a needless injury in a decided game, the kid can play he just needs some pass protection
