Home field advantage for Gator Bowl

Hey VOLNATION can we take advantage of our great crowd and fans and make this game like a home game and stand up and make noise when we're on defense!? I have a feeling that were gonna have a huge turnout and if we can make it a hostile environment for Iowa that would be awesome. The reason I ask is because when I went to the music city bowl I felt like the crowd wasn't nearly energetic and loud as it should have been and it disappointed me. It really does make a difference and the players love it and feed off of it. Oh and you don't have to stand up to make noise. For those that don't like to stand

We're 3-2 in the gator bowl.

Highly doubtful they'll let us bring Third Down For What.

iowa will send few fans to this game---they had a bad year and their fans have had enough.

Those farmers will show up......the fan base might be disappointed, but Iowa has always been a team that travels well

When we played an unranked Penn State in the Outback Bowl (2007) it was like a home game for them. Embarrassingly so. And they killed us. So I wouldn't bank on vicinity or record to allow for any sort of "home field" advantage

Btw Go Vols beat those Iowa chickeneyes

Iowa fans will show up. Jan 2 in Florida or Iowa? They took over the Orange Bowl a few years back when they played Georgia Tech. It was 75% Iowa fans. They'll make the trip purely for the weather.

How do you know where our sections are gonna be? I don't want to get stuck sitting with the chickeyes.

I took a look at Iowa's website, their two deep, their schedule and we will definitely get a game. Their lines are big and heavy. I have hawkeye friends and they definitely travel well and will look at this as their opportunity to gain some respect. Vols need to show up, cheer, show class and most importantly play this game like it could be your last if you lose. Go Vols!

Tennessee will be sitting on the west side of the stadium according to the Taxslayer Bowl website. Those sections will be numbers 101 through 217. I suppose both endzones will be a mixture of both Tennessee and Iowa fans.

Make sure to pack your winter gear! It will be probably in the mid sixties during the day and upper 40's at night. Bundle up!

We haven't been to a Bowl game in 4 years, we will show up loud and excited for this one! IMO.

BTW, that 2007 game sucked! Damn Foster fumble :realmad::realmad:

Mid 60s is definitely shorts weather:)

I would guess there will be 15-20K Iowa fans there. Not as good as previous bowl showings as it's been a disappointing season.

Very similar to our turnout vs. Texas in the Alamo Bowl, probably 1/3 Hawk fans to 2/3 Vol fans.
