Home Brewers

That's awesome man, I like the drip tray as well! Thanks for the link to the corny kegs I may go home and order a couple here in the next few days. I may have to upgrade to a bigger apt so I can build one and not tick off the wife. I like the UT decor around the keezer as well!

Thanks, my tap room is small but it works. I ordered four of those kegs last night so I will post their condition when they come in.

Sounds good, I looked at them and they seem like a great deal. I just hope they are easy enough to clean after holding soda for so long.

Ill probably just fill them with B Brite or Star San solution and let them sit.

You gonna make it by Mayday tomorrow?

I think I can swing by for a beer, I have some plans for later in the evening but I could make it there by 6:15 or so. When are you planning on being there?

I'll have a UT collared shirt on...white w/an orange power T. Wife may or may not tag along.

Ill swing by the house and put on a UT shirt or jacket. Yea bring the wife that's cool. I got a neighbor that wants to go too, he hasn't been there yet either.

Here's the stir plate I build doing its thing.

Stir plate looks great hop! What project you on next? I think I will make a wort chiller soon. I don't have one and found a nice tutorial on one.

Well right now I am remodeling a bathroom, lol. The wife said the bathroom gets done before any more homebrew projects.

Next HB project is either going to be adding a couple more taps to the keezer or making an all grain set up. I picked up some 15.5 gallon kegs to cut the top off and make a hot liquor tank, mash tun, and brew kettle. I just need to cut them and order all the fittings. Will look something like this.

I found a guy on ebay selling corny kegs for $33 so I ordered 4 of them bringing my total to 8. I still just have 2 taps though so I need to add a couple taps and a C02 distributor.

Nice, that shouldn't be too tough. There'd hardly be any reason to ever leave home with 8 beers on tap!

How quick does it cool your wort? Do you use straight water or do you use a per chiller like a bucket of ice water to cool the water lower?

For an immersion chiller you continuously (sp?) run cold tap water through. You just put it into your wort for 15 min or so. Make sure you put it in while the wort is just coming off of the boil so that it sanitizes the copper chiller.

Have you been to O'possums recently? They brew their own beer and I went Friday. They have a good Irish Red on tap right now.
