Holly Warlick Presser 11/23/16

Ask CHW a question and her reply is that she doesn't know. That's the gist of the interview. After every loss it's the same response by her. IT's as if she's reading off of a script. She sat down in that interview already lookin uncomfortable and afraid. No confidence at all. I believe her demeanor has rubbed off on the team. I'm sorry but Holly is in over her head. Her interviews are cringe worthy.

I might add that the comments are disabled. There's a reason for that.

I thought interview was good she knowledge that they were not penetrating or getting into gaps. Hell I can't go on the court for then and get into gap and when she said she did not know is because I am assuming they look great in practice then in games are statues

She mentioned in the Penn State post game presser that they looked great in practice, just weren't taking it to the game floor.

As I watching the game I thought to myself they don't even look like the Lady Vols who I love and follow. They remind me of a team that once played against TN they didn't have hope of winning. Last year I finally went back to 6 games after many season of ticket holders. I look and watch them play and was really sad what I was seeing. This year no words. Sorry Holly I think you seat on the bench to many years and Pat coached and you didn't learn anything. We use to have strong Post Play amazing Post Play and tough. We have had the players but somewhere something is missing. Sometimes I just want to grab them and tell them go play nobody could stop you but seems no player on the team even believes that anymore. Still Love My Lady Vols but here we go again something got to change. We have 5 stars on the team but not coached.

The pressures of following a legend and great expectations(and there should be). But that comes with the territory.

Me too. Not sure what people want her to say. The players even stated that they weren't moving on offense.

Holly was a great player. But sometimes great players don't translate to great coaches. Because a lot of the time they are great because of not just their ability, but because of their vision and instincts and will. You can't teach some of that.

Lots of hall of fame players have been horrible coaches. But they are still great people and great ambassadors of the game. Look at Michael Jordan's track record running organizations. Or Wayne Gretzky. Two of the all time greats in their respective sports were train wrecks running teams.

She has been saying the same thing for 4 years. This last presser can be replayed after the next loss instead of having a live presser.

I never watch her press conferences. I gave up because she never gives a decent explanation of why we lost a game we should have won. If it is like all her others the last ten years she mentioned defense, rebounding, and players not making shots. The point being we need to find some players that can make some shots because that is how you win games by scoring points. If these players are not good enough to shoot 45 percentage as a team consistently and make 35 percent from the three get ready for a lot more of these Penn State type games.

The bigger issue is, Holly seems to lack the ability to make in game changes. She says that, in the PSU game, the team had a great game plan but failed to exercise the plan, good coaches know how to put their players back on track.

Holly spoke about all the mistakes, failure to gang rebound, taking bad shots, not guarding the 3 shot, failure to drive the gaps in the zone, etc. She failed to mention the lack of aggressive play and lack luster play. If Holly knows the issues, then she has to come up with a plan of correction.

For a second there, I thought I was reading a post from last season.

Holly seems most comfortable as second-in-command. She struggles when people look to her for leadership. I think she wants nothing more than to continue Pat's legacy and lead the LVs to another NC, but she just doesn't have the skillset.

I never knew there are so many elite basketball coaches that post on this board.

I wonder, though, why some school hasn't already hired them to coach their women's basketball teams.

Probably because they're just expressing opinions on a message board. Which is precisely the point of having one.

Glad you know you are a fair weather fan, useless front runner, and i bet you never stood and cheered anyway
