Holly and Mickie

I don't remember DeMoss failing at Kentucky. I recall her getting Kentucky out of the rut they were in after the end of Maddox, and then for some reason she resigned. Never quite understood why, but I wouldn't call that failure. I'm sure there's probably some inside story on why she resigned but I don't think it was on-court performance.
DeMoss put Kentucky on the map!

It was likely more that Mickie, as a coach for a VERY excited Vanderbilt team that just beat Tennessee, didn't want to appear to be overly sympathetic to the Lady Vols, the program that likely still is tops in her heart. Think for a moment how it would look if Holly had grabbed her for a too-long hug or something, and if Mickie had projected even the slightest hint of sadness that Tennessee is going through this downward spiral. It wouldn't look good at ALL. Mickie did the right thing to just move along quickly without lingering, which could have given a bad impression to some.

In the SEC, Coaches and assistant coach's all hug after the game. Mickey did that for a reason, reasons between her and Holly and a select few know. (we can all guess) You can even go to the Highlights video clip on the UT women basketball page and watch at the very end. Holly even hugs Kelly Kormara asst. coach. Mickie

I thought at the time that the pressure of being a head coach got to her and she started having anxiety/health issues and decided she preferred to be an assistant. I could be wrong though but that is what I have a vague memory of.
Whatever, the reason Mickie left Kentucky, let's give her credit she knew when it was time to move on as opposed to Holly. Holly continually admits that she is clueless as how to right the ship, but stays on setting one bad record after another.

Anyone know if there is in fact bad blood between these two or is this just speculation?

It really doesn't get any more incompetent than this. It is almost laughable and should be embarrassing to her supervisor. She is telling the man she has no clue.
