You can buy a copy of GT4 really cheap. Give it a look if you have a month or 3 to spare. Its really deep thats for sure.

The xbox may be better today just because of the number of games out, but to say it is a better console than the PS3 is a stretch. Look at the specs alone. The PS3 if a far superior console to the xbox right out of the box.
Technically speaking, yes, the PS3 is a far superior piece of hardware to the XBox 360.

But I'd say it's a pretty thin argument to say that the PS3's library is anywhere near as robust as that of the 360 at this point.

On a personal level I am not a fan of the 360's big exclusives, either. I got burnt out on Halo 2 and Halo 3 is still the same old thing. I plain did not like Gears of War that much. It was okay, but I was not impressed. I still much prefer GT to Forza. The car collection is still very much the cars I have grown up liking, and I firmly believe the physics engine ism much, much better and more accurate. BioShock was solid, but extremely short and zero replay value.

The only game I've really, really truly enjoyed so far on the 360 has been Oblivion, but the PS3 has a superior version now. That game did try and push the 360 past its limits.

They did leave a lot on the table with BioShock. Rumors floating around are saying that 2 is on it's way. After watching several videos from CES Microsoft is holding back a "Big Secret"..... I'm guessing that during E3 Microsoft will drop a bomb of GOW2 and BioShock 2. I could be a 100% wrong though.

I saw that GT was going to be released in March. It was listed as GT Prolouge. I wonder if that is the whole game (GT5) or just a warm up?

Now I will admit that GT5 does look better than Forza 2, but I wasn't impressed with GT4 videos. I downloaded everything they had last night on GT5.

GT4 is an awesome game. The graphics may not be up to par since it is a PS2 title, but the gameplay is beyond solid and it is a deep, deep game.

I doubt they'll release any "prologue" or whatever. GT5 will come when it comes.

And yeah, Smokey, GT4 = PS2. DUH. :p

Yep, I still have some licensing to do. I have some FF races to win (1 I just can't save my tires long enough to get the lead).

I've barely touched the rally and off-road circuits other than through the license exams.

I've barely touched the mods and tuning options.

In short, there's tons of stuff left.

I spend a lot of time in Arcade Mode on the Nurburgring - I've about got the whole thing memorized (if you've tried this track, you know that's a lot of memorization). I typically use the Alfa Romeo from 1965. Lot's of fun and good little car to push.

I don't know if it's called Prologue but there's a downloadable next gen GT available from the PS3 website. It adds a Ferrari and one European mountain course. The look is phenomenal.

Here's what's available:

PlayStation.com

It's called Gran Turismo HD Concept - I can't tell if it's a demo only or it lets you drive (I don't have PS3).

The full version appears to be called Gran Turismo 5 Prologue and is due out this Spring.

Correction - GT 5 Prologue is the precursor to the full version. Prologue has 50 cars (including the new Audi and Nissan supercars) and about 5 tracks. Not clear when the full version is coming out.

They've always talked about doing one before each game, and it always gets scrapped right before they approach go-time. It could happen, but I wouldn't expect it.

for those who won't buy a 360 because it's "microsoft" don't forget that it was Sony that was recently lambasted over the whole rootkits fiasco.

Both are invasive companies who try and incorporate their ish into every thing you do.

Its not just xbox, I wont buy ANYTHING microsoft produces. Especially things that have access to the internet. I've never had bad experiences with any of the hundreds of Sony products I've owned in my life. I've had nothing but bad experiences with microsoft.

It's not that anybody necessarily likes it, it's that they have to.

That's not true either. StarOffice and OpenOffice exist... there are other options for an OS, such as any of a multitude of Linux distros and BeOS... the REALITY is that Microsoft's offerings are the best out there.

Some would argue for OSX vs. Windows, but I'm pretty happy with WinXP as an OS, and there is NO office suite that even comes close to MSOffice.
