PS3 will continue to take backseat, but the recent bluray deal might help. Right now hands down the 360 is the best online gaming system for gamers. As for the Wii it's Nintendo... They will always be strong and will appeal to all ages gamers or not.

I have played both, and the PS3 is by far the better system. When the number of games on PS3 come up plus the whole Blu Ray issue, I am thinking that will turn.

my feeling exactly rpvol. my ps3 also plays regular dvds better on my flatscreen than any player i have seen.

That's definitely what I look for in a game system.

Who cares which system has the best games.

My brother has an xbox 360 that I borrowed for about a month. I was trying to decide which to get. Being a longtime PS fan, with the price difference, I was almost ready to switch to xbox. I played the xbox for a while, and it was ok. I really hadn't decided which to get when my wife surprised me with a PS3 for Christmas. I am SO glad she did. It is better in every way. I figure that me not having to pay every month to play online will more than make up for the difference in price. Sure there are more games for the xbox right now, but it is only a matter of time before that will change.

I know everybody may not like them but.....

  1. Halo
  2. BioShock (Rumors of another one!?!?)
  3. Scene It (great for parties)
  4. Gears of War (fixing to be GOW2)
  5. Forza (but PS does have their version in Grand Turismo)

Gran Turismo makes Forza look like mario kart IMO.

For each his own, but I disagree. I think Forza is a great game. But it's peeps like us that keep both companies selling.

If GT4 ever comes out... oh, and the new Metal Gear. At this point in time, those are vaporware.

Also, the point of having a free service vs. XBL... that $1 a week is really breaking the bank. The money I saved getting a 360 vs. a PS3 will pay for what, 4 years of XBL? Besides, the fact that XBL is far superior to Sony Online.

I was thinking it was more than $1 a week. Can you actually surf the web with xbox 360? I know their online communities are better, but I would put Sony's online experience as far as internet capabilities right up there with a PC. I think the processer in my PS3 is faster then whats in my home computer. Its all prefernece for sure.

$50 for a year subscription to XBL Gold. That is of course just a tad under $1 a week with 52 weeks in a year.

No, you can't surf the web... but that's what a PC is for IMO. It will stream media from your PC, but I still use my modded xbox with XBMC to do that b/c I like the interface better. :)

You are correct, it is all preference. If you would rather have a PS3, and that's what you bought, great! I'd rather have a 360 and that's what I bought. We're both happy with our purchases.

That's because the upscaling you see in Blu-Ray (and HD DVD) drives is far superior to anything from your run of the mill $80-100 upconvert DVD players. There are only a few of those that will do a similar job. Harman Kardon, Pioneer Elite, Oppo and Denon in particular.

:)

And we all know... GT5, FF XIII/2 and MGS4 are not out yet. But over the dozens of times those games have been released over the last decade, it has been a benchmark for video games every time. It's true that they are vaporware, and it does give the 360 a stronger library at this point, but acting like that set of four games won't be extremely well-made is asinine.

Notice I don't care enough to even have gotten the version number of GT right... :) I was just making a point about which GAME console is better TODAY. :dance2:

The xbox may be better today just because of the number of games out, but to say it is a better console than the PS3 is a stretch. Look at the specs alone. The PS3 if a far superior console to the xbox right out of the box.

Well having both now I'm not impressed at all with the PS3 shopping area. I did setup my PSP to control the PS3 last night, but I find that a little useless. I honestly don't see myself using it for any reason.

Yes the specs might be better, but it's still a machine in waiting, and I don't foresee it passing the Xbox 360 even after the big games release. While people wait for those games the 360 library is still growing. BTW it's just a matter of opinion.

I personally will buy games for my 360 if they are available for both systems, but I will buy GT, MGS, and maybe FF once they release.

I agree, it is a matter of opinion. I would own an xbox if I could find a used one for a decent price. I actually have been ragging my bro to sell me his, but he wants more for it than I want to spend and all the while it sits at his house collecting dust. I enjoy both, but the PS3 just a bit more.

I know. I love that franchise. A man can get lost in that game very easily.
