You take a knee it what most coaches know as the victory formation. You think Pruit was really going to call a timeout down 33-14? Its classless to pat meaningless stats, as the winner of the Heisman almost never has the most TDs. He will get enough TDs and the ones against a quality win really matter. Grier already had 400 + yards and 4 tds. Its classless as you dont try to show up first year coaches like that, and when you score to go up 40-14 you dont act like it was the score that won the game. At least run the ball and if you score then it is what it is.What should Holgorsen do with 2 minutes left, 1st down, 9 yards to go, UT had 3 timeouts?
Just to clarify, you are including the Vols as one of those weak OOC games!!! Our secondary couldn't have stop anything, our DL and OL got pushed around by smaller players. UT was out coached and out played. There were 2 minutes left in the game. Would it have offended you less if WVU pounded the rock into the end zone by running it. You play the game till it's over, and UT loaded the box and put a smaller player one on one against an AA WR. It's football. If UT is ever going to make it back, they need to put their big boy pants on!!!
And they still beat us in every stage of the game. You really have no point.Oh I know I included us and I also know we need to man up as a team. But the fact that they went full out to create a campaign and even made Grier clean up his look makes it clear. The coach is using a steroid using transfer to get his otherwise second thought team more attention and he also deep down knows he isn’t competing with Oklahoma so he has to use the weak part of his schedule to pump a qb that will fall flat in big games.
If you rewatch the game pay close attention to Grier. When the D line gets in his face he will throw ALOT of picks. If our safeties and cbs could read and break down a play as it’s happening better we’d couldve had several picks. But our secondary is constantly out of position and seem stuck in a spot even when there’s no reason to be there, something I noticed happened under Lyles leadership.
WVU will have a decent record and will make a bowl game. But they will fall flat against the top of their schedule and would get ran over against the likes of OSU or Bama. So even if they do somehow have a Cinderella season, come playoff time they will be exposed, and exposed of the biggest stage possible In the most brutal way you could imagine.
Grier served his suspension.....kinda like JJ, but i guess you are good with that one?Oh I know I included us and I also know we need to man up as a team. Spot on right here, and it's not hard to understand this at all! I told my son yesterday that I would love to have WVU again in 3 years, they would get a whole new Vols team indeedRelax. WVU won't be around when the playoff field is set, and if they are, they'll get killed by the SEC rep.
I said this before, this is the peak of WVU football. UT is just now coming off of the low tide of the last 40 years, if not more. Two teams at opposite ends of the spectrum, and now headed in opposite directions. Today they caught us at the bottom, and we ran into them at the top. It is what it is.
Grier is special. They have a lot of talent on offense. Holgerson is completely classless. He'll get his, on national TV.
So, relax. Bookmark this post, and get back with me in two years when UT is on top of the SEC, and WVU is still looking for a playoff slot.
Go Vols.
If you don’t want them to score then stop them.
Ok, then using your mindset. Why didn’t Tn protect their players? You want WV to pull their players/starters then shouldn’t UT? WV did the “sporting” thing. They ran the ball straight up the gut to kick a FG. The TN gunner on the FG unit was closer to the football than the kicker, WV didn’t force UT offside. Here's what I meant since some of you seem to be so used to losing that you don't mind. With less than 3 minutes left in a game that was out of reach, Holgorsen not only sent his starters back out against a gassed D... he threw the ball knowing they were likely to play base D for the rest of the game. Most coaches even if they do not do it for "sporting" reasons... will protect their players in a situation like that.
