Holgorsen is classless

Here's what I meant since some of you seem to be so used to losing that you don't mind. With less than 3 minutes left in a game that was out of reach, Holgorsen not only sent his starters back out against a gassed D... he threw the ball knowing they were likely to play base D for the rest of the game. Most coaches even if they do not do it for "sporting" reasons... will protect their players in a situation like that.

Nothing wrong with WVU scoring there. They're running a heisman campaign. It's up to us to stop them.

If that hurts your feelings your gonna have rough year.
Feelings? I won't apologize for not liking to lose... ever.

But he's classless. I wish him nothing but the worst.

You're usually much more rational than to suggest liking it a player gets hurt over something like this.
Our job to stop what we dont like.

I don't wish for players to get injured... but WVU deserved it after what they just did.

Maybe the dumbest **** you ever said on here. You're losing it man.
On top of that, you are preaching about class? You picked a bad day for your first beer.

Lol. Looks like you're more upset than our defensive players.
Got any eligibility left?

The WVU offense is loaded. Grier is a generational talent, and they have serious talent (and depth) at WR. They also have a TE now. The only question mark would be at RB, where they are still pretty good. This is a 40-50 point offense.

And their defense ain't bad, either. We literally could not have caught WVU at a worse time.

But they rubbed it in, and I have an issue with that. Trust me, CJP is going to light that defense up. Behind closed doors, as it should be. As for me, I probably couldn't cover Mother Teresa on a fly pattern, but I cannot for the life of me figure out why they left those freshman DB's in man coverage against WVU's receivers. Grier killed us with that. I expected better from CJP. At least now he knows he's not still at Bama.

Truth is, I always kinda liked WVU. I still would, despite the loss, if not for how Holgerson called that last series. Now...if they play the Taliban I'll pull for the Turbans.

Sooner or later, he'll get his. I hope I get to watch it.

Go Vols.

Maybe he left those freshman DBs in man coverage because he is a "defense specialist". I hope the dude succeeds but this was a terrible showing.

He didn't need it. He took risks he shouldn't have taken. I hope he gets burned by doing it. I don't wish for players to get hurt but I was more tempted today than any point in a long time. The players do what they're coach tells them. They don't deserve to get hurt... He deserves to be pounded to sand. I hope he gets it.

Tennessee has more money than God to field a respectable team. We need to demand more. We shouldn’t ever complain when someone runs it up on Tenn.
Even though the result was a miserable blowout, UT seemed slightly better coached than last year. I think WVU would have hung 50 plus on last year's team. I believe some progress has been made. We'll see soon.

Is it our job to stop it? I mean if were gonna give a team a scrimmage game why shouldn't they take advantage of it and fully evaluate their playbook?

I do agree that he needs to be smarter with Grier. No way he should be in the game at that point.

He knew it was his only chance at selling Grier as a real Heisman candidate cause he’s gonna suck against the rest of their schedule except the weak OOC games and he will be begging for a shot at a crappy bowl at the end of the season after missing out of a chance at the Big 12 title

Just to clarify, you are including the Vols as one of those weak OOC games!!! Our secondary couldn't have stop anything, our DL and OL got pushed around by smaller players. UT was out coached and out played. There were 2 minutes left in the game. Would it have offended you less if WVU pounded the rock into the end zone by running it. You play the game till it's over, and UT loaded the box and put a smaller player one on one against an AA WR. It's football. If UT is ever going to make it back, they need to put their big boy pants on!!!

No, GA...that was more then "running your offense" or "doing right by your Heisman candidate". And you know it.

They have running plays, right? Part of their offense, right? Between the tackles, you think?

Or maybe you should call the square-in slant against a freshman DB...up by 19 with under 2 to play. You know...to do right by your Heisman candidate. After all, it's just "running your offense".

Classless. And at some point this season, another team will humble WVU. Make sure you're there to defend them.

It was classless, and you know it. Stop being a diplomat. Call it what it is.

Go Vols.
It wasn’t classless. Your ass just hurts. Did we tell our D to back off? No. You lineup every play with the goal to score, or in our case to stop the play, and they executed well. He didn’t call a timeout. Hell he tried to kick a field goal and we jumped offsides. We did that to ourselves. The blame for that TD lays at our feet.

No we wouldn't... That's the problem with every Tennessee coach in my lifetime. They never go for the throat. They always back off... I've hated it since Majors...
I remember Fulmer doing it very early in his career against KY..... but he did have Colquitt in after Shuler did the heavy lifting....colquitt threw a late TD and a KY fan sitting near the camera could be heard yelling "F Tennessee! Buncha no good sons a beeches!".... his voice cracked like a kid going through puberty too.... I've still got it on VHS somewhere

Nothing wrong with what they did. It irritated me, but only because we seemed to have no chance of stopping it.

I’ve taken longer getting over speed bumps than this loss or any other. Look, we kinda suck again. One day it will turn. I hope Pruitt can do that. Today played out like my gut told me it would. Quantum leaps rarely happen. In the mean time, I’m all for a solid steroid program, paying recruits and slipping Benjamins to the refs. Just win baby!!

He was clearly sandbagging at the end but to wish for college kids to get injured doesn’t exactly beam with class either.

Look. The good news is. Now we know what we are like against real competition and Pruitt and Staff "WILL" make adjustments for the next games. Our Freshman DBs will improve. A lot of issues were getting caught flat footed and just trying to guess routes instead of playing the receiver.

As for our Defensive Line.... Well they just have to get better about getting off blocks.... I'll also be surprised if we don't see a switch up in the LB corps for the next game.

Maybe he left those freshman DBs in man coverage because he is a "defense specialist". I hope the dude succeeds but this was a terrible showing.

His DBs were not always in man coverage they ran a lot of zone especially at the beginning of the game. Our safety play killed us. Abernathy had one PBU and that was when he landed on the dude in the endzone and made him lose possession of the ball and he was beat deep.... Flowers has potential but he has to learn to stay on his toes and to read the receiver not guess where the receiver is going to go.
