Guys shut your mouth and let him do his job.... Phil is our guy.... So shut up and let him do his job.... Obviously people have a right to their own opinion but I would bring down the ban hammer on people that are still trying to "put pressure on Phil"...

That being said I am a personal family friend of Phil and know without a shadow of a doubt he didn't trey to sabotage anything... He just made da@$ sure that currie or anyone else didn't..... Be calm guys he understands more than you do.

He has years of blood ,sweat, and tears invested in UT. In these gloomy day I'll trust his judgement .

Let Coach Fulmer do his Job, he is a true VFL and has nothing but the best intentions for rebuilding this program that he loves. He will decide who will lead the team as the next HC and we as fans need to support him and get this program moving back to greatness.

We have to support him and the decision he makes. He is not that pencil pushing politician that never played a single snap for Tennessee. Phil has skin in the game as well as his orange blood give him some respect and GO Vols

Why? I say put on more steam until we get a decent coach. Bring me Petersen, and I'll sit back. Until they sign someone who can resurrect the program Fulmer helped destroy, keep the pedal to the medal.

Two Sec championships and a NC helped destroy a program. c'mon man!

No one is trying to stop Fulmer from doing another job that he has backed into with questionable methods and motives.

He wanted the power back that no other school outside TN ever considered giving him, he can have it.

And he can have the repercussions if he makes a poor choice just like he did when he was coach.

Wy do I have to support someone like Doeren just because a fired former coach chooses him? Doeren is who Phil tried really hard to bring to the Hill.

I don't think that is what the OP meant.

Fulmer is just as likely to make a bad hire as the former AD was. What if he decides that promoting the interim or hiring GS is the right thing to do? You being quiet then?

No, he is not as likely to make a bad hire. There are plenty of good coaches out there ... but many of them would NOT be a good fit for us here.

We should be able to trust that Phil will not bring in someone who is a terrible fit for the culture and corporate personality of Volnation.

You do realize that Clay Travis has been praising the Vol fans for what they have done right? I agree with a lot that you said. But in all honesty, we have to sit back and watch now. We cannot continue to revolt against every single decision in the AD department. We have to just trust that Fulmer truly has Tennessee's best intrest at heart.

I like Fulmer but I do have to admit, him being the AD is a little scary. Especially since he has no experience doing it.

Was Doug Dickey an AD before taking the TN job? We haven’t had a decent AD since.

We need a football guy in the job. Quite hiring accountants and expecting them to know what is best for the football program.

The #1 richest football program in the SEC. The 2nd in the nation. There is no reason we cant have a decent winning coach. If you want to compete with Saban (bama's 11 million dollar man) Tennessee MUST stop low balling and get a coach on the same level and pay.

If a small fraction of the rumors are true; that Fulmer did an end run on the Haslams and orchestrated a palace coup. Then, perceived lack of experience be damned, he's the guy I want running the program.

However, I think Fulmer's coaching experience makes him far more qualified for the AD position than any business school wannabe. We had a series of coaches with "no experience" who were great ADs, and three others who were trained for the position, and two of those actually had been ADs. The coaches passed with flying colors, and the business school guys failed miserably. I'll take the coaches any day, and the supporting evidence will back that decision all day long.

No reason to put pressure on Phil.. yes hold him accountable, expect our expectations to be met. But don’t “put pressure on him”. Let the man do his job and trust him. The guy knows a lot more than any of us do. The arrogance and ignorance of some fans on here is disappointing. We have a true Tennessee man who knows a thing or two about football going after our next coach. Shut up and let him do his job. If any of you think he doesn’t have Tennessee's best interest in mind then you need to do some soul searching.

The top programs in the country have strong leadership at the top. Leadership is what Tennessee has been lacking for over a decade. Hiring Fulmer is a giant step in the right direction.

Not true. People inside a profession evaluate others inside the profession differently and better than outsiders do.

Agreed. It’s that pitchfork mentality that got him runoff to begin with. He’s one of ours guys! I have full trust that he can and will put the right guy in there.

Very concerned Fulmer will hire someone he's comfortable with … a good ole boy with a plodding, conservative style in order to validate his own coaching tenure which was similar. I hope an outside-the-box choice or otherwise innovative coach like Leach or Kiffin wouldn't make Fulmer feel threatened. C'mon, Phil. Whoever you choose needs to get the fans jazzed while putting the rest of the college football world on notice. Miles won't do that.

I hear ya . This junk is silly. Fulmer made some miscalculations that caused some grief, but he sure as hell didn't sink the program. If it weren't for him and the staff he had, we'd probably have been wrestling with Vandy and the Mississippi schools for scraps during those years. I'll always believe that he would have straightened it up if given acouple more years.
