Hokies aren't that good.

This is also the same defensive staff (there abouts for the Hokies) that lost to William and Mary. They have a more robust history of coming out flat in a lot of games they shouldn't. Albeit the random game with Ohio State, they are not very good. Coupled with the fact, that quarterback has never faced a real defense like what he will see Saturday night, I mean they gave two turn overs to Liberty. Don't be too scared of the Hokies, I am also not saying we will blow them out, but Shoop's defensive front should dominate. Especially the defensive end. Hokies could barely run the ball against Liberty, which, I would be enraged if I were a Hokie fan.

i dont know if the hoies are good or bad. i dont know what im talking about really. but i think your orangemen defenders will get four steals. the #6 runback will have 102 yards and #1 runback 140 yards. your ball thrower will run 112 yards and throw 216 yards. big numbers but i think your orangemen are mad and the coaches leave them alone. like maybe a race horse with the rider dropping the reigns. go orangemen!

Tennessee did win over App state, even though the offense looked like hot garbage. That's what talented teams do, they find a way to win no matter what.

If I remember correctly, the team with the most talent wins 80% of the time.

William & Mary?

If that argument is valid.. I guess I can also say that the VT DL should have a field day because the Vols OL looked similar to a sieve last Thursday night. On several occasions the center did good just to get the ball snapped before he fell down.

No offense intended.. but this is delusional.

Let's be real... just because the Vols looked average in that game, doesn't equate App State into being a great football team. They're a decent team, who played a good mistake free game. The Vols underwhelmed, your OL struggled which led to your QB struggling. Pretty much that simple.

The VT defense gave Liberty absolutely nothing... all day. Offensively for VT, right at 500 yards of total offense for the team and 4 TDs from a QB getting his first ever D1 start... and it was vanilla as it could be on both sides of the ball. VT didn't blitz, played essentially man cover all day long.

I think both teams will come out play better game 2.. and I think it's 100% crazy to think this game will be a blowout.

None taken. Tennessee has to play a lot better than our last game.

But the Hokies are behind on recruiting. I don't look at recruiting rankings. What I see on the field from the Hokies is not very impressive.

No speed like in years past.
They used to have 230- 250 lbs DES that ran like safeties. CB that ran 4.3. Va Tech was DBU for a while and not LSU.

I actually think Fuente is gonna do great things with that program.
But its too soon.

UT will play much more inspired than last outing. And y'all just don't have the horses yet. Simple as that.

I look forward to the game.

Why yes, you can say that. Both sides can talk smack before the game, it's the still being able to talk after the games over part that's a lil more tricky.

If I were you I would carry on while you still can. Lol

Here's to a good game and hopefully a Vol win and maybe even Coleman staying upright.

Pluck M turkeys boys!!!

Wow! This stuff is great! Thought VT had some delusional fans, but this Big Orange BS is just WAY too much. I can't even guess what you'd be spouting about ASU if their kicker had made his extra point last week! HAHAHAHA! Good thing we have "a Fuente" now to help us maintain some semblance of recruiting mojo when going head to head with peer schools like Appalachian State. Of course, as you and most reasonable college football fans know, comparing VT to Appalachian State football truly is subjective!

Thanks for proving it

News flash: the Vols aren't that good either:cray:

You'll feel a bit differently after Tomorrow.

Team 120 is a lot better than what we saw last Thursday.

So your "news flash " needs a little bit more material before that conclusion. Don't you think?

Can we pleeeeease get some more VT fans up in here?

This is WAY more fun when the bad guys are on our board making fun of us.

True entertainment!

You bunch of hillbilly redneck Colt-45 drinkin' Tennersee fans, don't go throwin' yer bottles at no signs and hope somehow you have a great weekend since yer gonna lose. Your grammar's been lots better then I was led to believe. Ya'll be safe and thanks fer havin' me. Load yer cannons! There's a battle 'bout to begin. Go Hokies! :hi:

What? So... I'm delusional because I think most reasonable college football fans would say VT is at a different level than App St?

Delusional because I thought Tenn was VERY lucky to win it's opener and I think the Hokies have a legit shot tomorrow night?

App State was 11-2 with a bowl victory last year. They returned 17 starters from a year ago. I bet they are a more cohesive team to date than VT.

Haha.

Good luck Saturday.

Try to keep it within 3 scores by halftime 😎.

I was responding to someone asking me why I thought VT was better than App State if you go back and check. I listed why due to rankings and recruiting at this point. And because the season is early, I included it's subjective at this point.

I was agreeing with everything you just wrote up above. Not sure what sparked you off on my post unless let's say, maybe you were delusional.

Talent wise they are no better. Numbers don't lie. Are they better coached? Yes, I think so, but there is only so much that coaching can overcome in most cases.

App state was a lot less talented than the Vols. We saw what almost happened. I'm not sure that argument holds water

Gotcha! Didn't realize they were such a stout club. GREAT WIN VOLS!! Don't understand why this victory hasn't been all over the news this week? It's REALLY unfair that UT dropped 8 spots in the polls after the big win over a great team. Again, hope VT can keep it close for a few minutes tomorrow night and THANK GOODNESS we don't have to play App State this year!:clap:

Where's VT ranked right now? I can't seem to recall...

They play in the ACC so they're over rated every year. They're still clinging to that Ohio St victory.

The Ohio State victory is what worries me. They can get ready for a big game- can we? I thought the passing game would be much better this year- havent seen that yet. Why dont our highly touted receivers improve each year? Something is wrong with coaching.
