I did a brief research on the specific dates when Coaches get fired, hired..

Lot's of times the schools will announce the firing and then within a few days, they will announce their coach.

March Richt got fired Nov. 30th. , Kirby is announced Dec. 2nd.

Charlie Strong fired Nov. 26th, Herman was hired literally the same day.

After that Ed Orgeron gets his Interim off. Herman was LSU's first guy and he turned them down for TX if they offered.... sounds like that's what Chip Kelly said to FL about the UCLA job.

ANd thinking of FL... the Nebraska job came up and I bet Scott Frost told them he'd be interested in that job too. haha!!!

Anyways.. some might say, well why did we announce after Butch's firing? I think it's because Butch was offered to play out the season but he decided not to.

Plus all these firings/hirings are usually around the end of the season. Which is NOW.

My gut feeling is that we had already got our man weeks ago. If not announced within the next 72 hours or so, then we missed out on our 1st and 2nd guy... and we are gonna be real sad.

I respectfully disagree. I don't think they had their guy weeks ago. Not sure they have one now.

This is Tennessee remember?

We will see soon enough. Even though Butch was fired Nov. 11th apparently he was given to play out the season. Well the season ended Saturday.

If an announcement is NOT done by Wednesday than I'd start to panic, because I'm sure the plan was gonna announce after Vandy game regardless if Butch played it out or not.

UCLA caused Chip Kelly to stall over FL. Nebraska is probably causing Scott Frost to stall over FL.

And now I'm starting to actually think we caused Dan Mullen to stall over FL while they were deciding whether they wanted Chip or not.

The real question is whether or not Dan Mullen is gonna be our coach? Or is it gonna be Mike Norvell who probably has interest in the Arkansas job?

If Arkansas announces Mike Norvell than he was on top of our list and we missed out.

It's all a domino effect.

If Currie has his man it will be today especially after last nights great performance I think he wants to get that behind him as soon as possible.

The longer it lasts, the more likely its some guy named Steve who coached in High School once but left to open up a wrecker service

Chip didn't stall over FL. It has been known over a yr he wanted the UCLA job and pressured them with FL.

I think today thru Tuesday. Currie has had everything clamped down pretty good...which is good. Nebraska AD different philosophy but they can afford to say that Frost is one of their candidates because highly likely they know he'll be their guy.

More likely to be sometime next week IMO after the conference championship games.

The only way it's this week is if it's Mullen or Leach.

Well since both got beat in the last game it could be either one. Or neither one

If Currie had a coach already hired, they would have leaked it last night to stop the bleeding caused by this season. There is no deal and if history teaches us anything, Vols will end up with the owner of Steve’s Wrecker Service as the next coach
