Tennessee - 34
Syracuse - 33

An entire season that proves its better to be lucky than good.

It feels better to be on this end than App States end. We owe them a lot of gratitude for a world class humbling and hopefully instilling a workman like attitude that everything is earned.

Flame on VN. See ya in Bristol. 1-0 with plenty of room to improve.

I fail to understand the Syracuse comparison that I have seen now in several places.

Syracuse was a road game and a team that ended up in the Orange Bowl with Donovan McNabb at QB.

You say that with the enormous benefit of historical perspective. The sky was falling after that game.

Not sure that's really a fair game comparison, either.

(Side note, the game date at the top of the post has the wrong year.)

Because we were beat and it took a miracle PI call to keep us alive long enough to kick a field goal while time ran out. The call could have gone either way, but getting
it on the road in the Dome was a friggin miracle. And we enjoyed many more of those in 98'.

We weren't 20 point home favorites in that game.

Syracuse was a ranked team for crying out loud. You want t9 compare this to something, go to the '05 USB game.

In 1998 Tennessee was a 1 point UNDERDOG on the road to a team that went to the Orange Bowl-and beat 10 win Michigan on the road the next week..whoever is making that comparison should be ashamed at the sheer stupidity

People are blind and don't get the analogy. Its one game, we can't be as bad as we appeared to be tonight. Got 11 more games to focus on and win.
