The guy is waiting on a job like this. Would be a perfect fit here.

If I'm Hamilton and if I have the authority I contact both Davis and Gruden. I place an position offers to both and go from there. Money has to be no object, buy out Phil send him back to Winchester to retire asap.

Hiring Davis would change how the program is seen nationaly overnight. Much like what Saban has done at Alabama.

Not to mention him bringing John Blake with him. Who in my opinion is the best recuriter in College Football. If he can get kids like he has been getting to go to UNC just think of the job he would do here.

Assuming winning is the most important thing on the minds in the AD's office. Only problem with that is they've demonstrated that its a money first thing with them. Butts in the seats=phil on the sidelines. Harsh reality.

They have managed to come up the $500 million or whatever ungodly sum they are spending on this stadium renovation. If buying out Fulmer, paying top dollar for a new coach, and getting this program back on top of the SEC means putting that on hold for a few years, I doubt anyone would object.

Priority's seem to be in all the wrong places up there.

Gruden is not coming, can we please quit bringing his name up. I dont care that he has land in east tn, or his sisters cousins best friend said he would take it if offered. he isnt leaving TB for this.

You could be right, then again maybe he is ready for some mountain air, players who have less in their accounts than him and that don't backsass him, assistant coaches that jump when he barks.

The Oakland Raiders are my favorite NFL team........I'll pause so you all can stop laughing now.

At least I'm not a bandwagon NFL fan - as crazy as Al Davis is I will still always be a Radiers fan no matter what but I yearn for the day he's no longer in charge over there. Anyway, I follow them almost as closely as I do the Vols and I think Lane Kiffin would be a good fit for the UT job. Unless he goes undefeated the rest of the year and wins the Super Bowl Davis is going to fire Kiffin so he would be available. I think his next natural progression would be to go down to College Division One and take over a program and the Vols would be a good choice for him IMO for what its worth.

Agreed. His recruiting and success with putting players in the pros was unmatched while he was at Miami. Of course he was sitting in possibly the best geographical position there, but he has done well recruiting at UNC too. He has had to recruit nationally and done so beating us out on few of of state guys like Marvin Austin. He took over a program in the toilets in 2007 and you can already see the on field improvement in their play. They soon be an annual contender to win the ACC if he remains there. I think he best meets what we need and is actually attainable if we go after him. Big name, ability to recruit on a national scale, and player devolopment are 3 of the most important assets the next coach must have and he would provide all 3

what type of offense does Kiffin run? I just assumed he would be a good fit since he was an assistant under a coach who doesnt play to not lose
