We burned mattresses because Kiffin left. We should have been rejoicing, singing praises, and making babies. Look at what the chump has done at USC. It's laughable. We should have saved all the burning for when we hired Dooley. In reality, our fans didn't/don't know sh*t. And that's no disrespect. It's just hard to predict the future. It absolutely amazes me how people gave Dooley so much time, and drank his kool-aid before realizing he wasn't the one. Yet, Butch is getting harassed over five games with less than 5% of the roster being any of his players!!!!
So I suggest that people need to stop jumping to conclusions about the Butch Jones era based on these first five games. We just had four years of two of the worst coaches in all of college football. Yes, i'm ranking Kiffin with the worst. While some may disagree, his record as a coach everywhere he has been is just proof. Let alone, with the attrition, new position coaches, etc We are exactly where every reasonable person expected us to be. Every reasonable person expects us to be at the 5-7 win range. While losing isn't tolerated at Tennessee, it's just where we are. . . I, for one, am very excited about the future based on our recruiting so far. That's what everyone needs to focus on.. recruiting. Be patient, don't burn any mattresses. Let's expect greatness like always, because after all we are UT, but let's use that cognition that we all have to realize it won't happen overnight. We are lacking at extremely important positions and these key positions aren't up to SEC talent standards, let alone Tennessee standards.
Support the team, they are working hard and giving it their all.. The passion is entirely different, while last years roster may have had more talent we are making up for it this year with heart. It's evident. Once we get the talent with the heart, watch out.
P.S: Some of you already knew all of this, but I feel like some needed to be reminded.
