Hindsight 20/20

I figured your response wouldn't yield any real answers. The thing that pisses me off the most are people who point out problems but fail to bring any solutions.

As I said earlier, prior to anyone being able to describe the concept of gravity, it did not exist. Correct?

As opposed to handing the reins over to an unqualified HC with a $2 million/ contract and a $5 million buyout the first 3 years? Yep much better option.

The $2MM contract is on the low end for an SEC HC. And the $5MM buyout is irrelevant if you plan on letting the coach rebuild your program.

Well, it's about having Kippy Brown as an interim HC, and last time I checked you can't have 2 HCs (unless you're OSU). So yes, it IS about firing Dooley after 2 years.

Seriously? This is so asinine, that Johnny Cochran and Robert Shapiro couldn't argue this.

The fallacy in that is that no matter who the new coach was, he was going to inherit a roster post two coaching changes with zero talent. The results the past two years would not be much different whether Nick Saban or Nick Faldo had been hired.

I disagree, whole-heartedly.

Because spur of the moment decisions quite often lead to poor decisions. I don't know how to say this any more clear, me naming coaches on a message board is irrelevant to the question can UT reach higher than Dooley. UT is one of the greatest football programs in the history of college football. To think DD is the best when can do is just not accurate.

Tell me then, how has anything you have said been relevant? How is it relevant to bash the leader of our team? Like I said before, take out relevance because its a message board and everything posted here is pretty irrelevant except for negative comments on the members/staff of our team that potential interested parties of joining said team that may directly/indirectly push them in another direction, therefore weakening the structure of the university that you so love, and care enough about..... but anyways, take away irrelevance and for mine and everyone else's pure entertainment and only entertainment.... tell me looking back now, knowing who you could have gotten, give me 3 names better, that would have created a solid foundation and raised the talent and depth level. Don't worry, I'll wait

Sorry guys, but any interim head coach option, when that interim would be the third head coach I three years, would have been a really bad idea. The recruits you're trying to keep wouldn't know who their coach would be. If you think it hurt things having three head coaches in three years, imagine having four infouryears.

No. It was either hire Kippy as the real (not interim) head coach, or hire Dooley. At least Hamilton knew better than to go with an interim at that point.

I later corrected myself. Sorry, it's hard to keep up with the timeline of coaches at Tennessee, especially after the revolving door we've had the last 4 years.

This isn't even the argument, and has nothing to do with anyones attitude about Dooley.

The question was posed about Kippy being interim coach vs Dooley getting hired. AV said he would have had Kippy as interim, then hire a big name coach, yet he can't name a single one.

Asking for names of big name coaches that UT could hire is an answer that noone has given after repeatedly questioned. This topic actually has nothing to do with anyone's attitude toward Dooley. Don't even consider Dooley. Who is the "big name" coach? Simple question.

Tommy Tubberville would have been interested. Know this for a fact.

I don't have a particular person in mind. It isn't about who I want. It is about realizing Dooley is way under UT standards.

would you like houston nutt, Joker Phillips, Lou Holtz? Lets work this thing backwards and put down all the people you don't want.

You think there's a coach out there that could have magically won 9 games for us last year?

Nope. No magic required. Just competence.

Where did 9 games come from? I would have been more inclined to agree had that been the criteria. I was under the impression that the criteria was 'much better'.

K. I believe he also lost to Iowa St last year by about 40 points.

I don't think I'd like to be going into this season with TT. I know he has a track record, but I think the track is done.

Think of how ridiculous it would have been to ask the Seniors in 2011 to play for 4 different head coaches.

But according to you, completely accurate.

So with your reasoning, if you can't explain something then your opinion must be right??

Face it. You can't name one viable option so the easy thing to do is to hate on DD.. Like i said before, let him ride out his 3 years and if he doesn't get it done then he will be gone. But we will still be much better off than before.

All I know is that there is absolutely no way Saban let's this team roll over against KY if he was at the helm, and there's nothing you can say to convince me otherwise.

Good God are you kidding me? Yeah, the recruits would have really been lining up to jump on this ship. Might as well have kept Fulmer.

So you think Dooley is a better hire than Tubbs? Compare their resumes and get back to me.

Ummmm, no. My opinion is Dooley is a low tier coach. His record backs that up. Me naming coaches is not needed to believe UT can do better.
