Hillary Clinton thinks aliens have visited earth

I would rather the opposite. Someone 2ho chooses to be a devout Christian without subscribing to the day/age theory or the gap theory is likely to have the morals necessary to be a good leader. You can't be a bible thumper and a pathological liar like 99 percent of politicians are. I can't imagine a scenario where a presidents belief in what age the earth is would have any bearing whatsoever on a policy decision or any kind of national security. So I don't see where there could possibly be a downside. You have a leader with great morals and integrity and no negative consequences to their interpretation of the bible. I can see the atheists asinine argument would be that his belief would mean that he denies science or is easily fooled. Radioactive carbon dating is not all of science. Nobody alive today was alive at creation...and records don't go back that far either. So it takes faith to try and date the earth or universe regardless of what one believes. Either you believe in the accuracy of a very narrow portion of science, which often is very erratic and undependable (2 sample of the same piece of limestone can give dates millions of years apart) or you believe in a literal interpretation of the dates and lifespans of 5he bible. Both beliefs take faith. One takes faith on man, the other in God. I've seen far too much of the ignorance and outright stupidity of man to put 100 percent of my faith in anything man does. I don't know how old the earth is bit I know that believing it is 6000 years old does not make one a moron.

What a complete crock of bullsh##. The notion of trying to make science on the same level of faith is beyond preposterous. All you posted is misinformation perpetuated by those who have little understanding of how science actually works. Those dates are not guesses. Not to mention the complete lack of sense it makes to claim to be highly skeptical of scientific findings but to fully believe a book written thousands of years ago.

And as for your bolded part, it most certainly does.

I'm so glad you are privy to the federal governments workings back in the 60's.

Btw. The post was tongue in cheek. I read Hilary's comments on another forum. Simple google search netted me the post(s) I made.

But, imo, Roswell happened.

Need a UFO truther thread upnheerrr.

That's your opinion. Which is worth exactly as much as LG's. Thanks for sharing. Also, yes...samples taken from the same piece of limestone do often vary by millions of years in ESTIMATED age when current methods of analyzing isotopes' half lives are measured. Feel free to post some data about the accuracy of these methods if you like. What would they test them against? Think about that for a minute. In order to scientifically calibrate an instrument one would have to use the instrument to test a sample with a known verified age of millions of years. How could anyone say for certain that ANYTHING was any specific age if is older than recorded history? That would be impossible. Even if the instrument was calibrated to where it could accurately date materials that were made 500 years ago, and come up with say 490 to 510 years every time...who could say that instrument would remain accurate when the time frame is supposedly changed from a few hundred (recorded science) to millions or even billions? That would also be impossible. Science is the best sense we can make of the universe around us given the tools and methods we have currently at our disposal. Feel free to put your faith in man. Just a few hundred years ago the wisest scientists on the planet thought that the earth was flat and the sun revolved around it. The tools and methods we use to try and understand our environment with our poor senses of perception will be obsolete in our lifetimes. Our knowledge is constantly challenged and our understandings changed. I will never put my faith in the wisdom of men. I put my faith in God. He is always right, and never changes. I love science. Love the scientific method. I hate when people abandon the scientific method and blur the line between solid scientific evidence and a political agenda. Abiogenesis lumped in with evolution, and carbon dating are examples of pseudoscience at its finest. Not a single person on this planet can say for certain that any piece of anything is millions of years old, nor can they say that life happened accidentally when primordial soup supposedly existed on earth. That is not scientific fact. That is atheist political agenda trying to masquerade as settled science.

You can't even prove he is real or not, so how can you proclaim he's never wrong? Not to mention if you're basing that on what's written in the Bible, uh yeah he's gotten some stuff wrong.

The rest of your post again demonstrates how little you know or understand of science. No one has proclaimed abiogenesis as scientific fact; no one. It is a hypothesis. Do you understand the difference between a scientific theory and a hypothesis. Also you seem woefully ignorant about dating methods because you seem to think carbon dating is the only thing they have.

The funniest part about this is science has no problem saying "We don't know". This idea that science proclaims something and never budges is another projection of the fundamentalists to bring science down to their level.

Your entire last paragraph is ignorant . Did you not read where I repeatedly stated that science is our best understanding of what's around us right now? So your last paragraph is complete bullc rap based on an assertion Noone made. Nice.

Also...never stated or implied t hat carbon dating is the only method. So you made that up too...what I stated is that there is NO METHOD at all that can be verified scientifically to be accurate any further in the past than recorded history. Period. It's impossible. But keep putting words and ideas in my mouth...and arguing with fictional fundamentalists. Lol. If you make up both sides of the argument, you can do this all by yourself. Congrats.

Now, claim some supposed intellectual high ground and talk down to everyone that believes in God like that automatically makes them dumber than you. It always works to make guys like you look smarter. Works every time
Promise. *wink wink*

WTF are you even saying?

You want ignorant, read the drivel you've been posting. You actually try to use the fact that science changes as a negative because you claim you can't trust it, but you can trust fallible words written thousands of years ago?

Wait, who is putting words in people's mouths now? I never put down all who believe in God, just the assertions you keep making.

Why are you more skeptical about what "man" says than what "God" says?

This Part Is Hard For Lost People To Fully grasp. As I stated before, I love science. Read everything that I come across. I always take it with a grain of salt however because I know it is the work and conclusions of men like me. Which are flawed, and limited. To a true believer, the things of God are certain. Cretain like you know your own name. I know God is real. Because I have a relationship with Him. I interact with him, albeit indirectly from His side. I pray to Him and He manifests Himself in my life. He answers prayer, and at times performs miraculous works in my life. I am as certain that God exists as I am certain my kids do. You can have the same thing. All you have to do is believe. I have to get in church now for wed night service but I'll be back later.

I hate Clinton as much as the next correct person, but even I don't care about this. Maybe aliens visited, maybe not. Maybe there is other life out there, maybe not. I don't know. I really don't care, though it would be pretty cool. I like all the weird ancient things that make you go hmm.

It's mind numbing (to me at least) that you take science with a "grain of salt" because it "comes from man" but don't/can't/won't apply that same nugget of wisdom to a tale that was cobbled together over 1,500 years by forty(ish) men who mostly never met the subject they wrote about.

Incredible.

It's not the work of men like you. It's the work of highly intelligent individuals who spend most of there lives dedicated to education and the scientific method. That test theories without bias, then submit their work for others to test and retest. Then say while we don't fully understand what's taking place this is our best explanation.

What sort of miracles? I'm interested to know.

The thing is, there are no facts in science, only theory's that are a work in progress.

I don't necessarily agree with Marcus. But I respect his belief. Much like I respect yours.

My biggest issue with this subject is the constant bashing of ones belief and intelligence on this matter.
(Not you directly septic)

Why not have a civil discussion w/o the pricks being pricks....

I get it, it's hard hearing people poke holes in a belief system you've invested heavily in and I'm of the opinion that ANY dissent will be viewed as "bashing". Why is that when it comes to religion on this PF, it's suddenly taboo for the non believers to speak their mind candidly? Literally, everything else is on the menu. It's open season on Obama's ears, Trumps hair and Hillary's cankles - but as soon as one someone points out the flaws in rational thought it's "bashing?"

Marcus made the choice to whip it out and show it off - he shouldn't be too surprised if some of us snicker.

Seriously though, why is that when it comes to religion on this PF, it's suddenly taboo for the non believers to speak their mind candidly? Literally, everything else is on the menu. It's open season on Obama's ears, Trumps hair and Hillary's cankles - but as soon as one someone points out the flaws in rational thought it's "bashing?"

Exactly.

Look you can't throw out that both science and religion are "faith" and then turn around and say God is the truth, is never wrong, and that you won't trust man.

You can call it bashing, but pointing out the logical fallacies you subscribe to is fair game if you're going to go there. You can't say you won't trust man with science but then say you put 100% faith in God.....who you know from books written by man.

As Septic said, it's mind boggling to some of us how one can be so freakin' skeptical about "science" but things written so long ago by men who had a very limited understanding of how nature worked he apparently doesn't question. Not to mention the completely circular logic of knowing God exists if you believe, but to believe something you need proof, but apparently you get the proof after you believe.
