I don't think you are going to find many people here that support the Tea Party movement that really care how they affect the GOP. I don't understand this "contrary to what several posters on here believe" statement. I think at this point, it is pretty much established that they are 2 unique groups.
I realize they are here, but how many of them really are concerned about how the Tea Party will help or hurt the GOP? You seemed to insinuate (by saying "contrary to what several believe") that a Tea Party supporter is concerned about the success of the GOP. I disagree with that assertion.
Um, no. The GOP is currently controlled by the Tea Party. Maybe not in the sense of an individual race in Congress, but within Congress, and in the primaries for POTUS, the Tea Party is in control.
Now I will agree with you on that. But most Tea Partiers want the country moving in that direction whether it means the GOP follows along with them or not. Right now, the Tea Party are parasites feeding off of the GOP. I don't feel that they care if the host lives or dies. If they get run out of the GOP, the conventional wisdom would be that they would find another host/established party or have enough grassroots supporters a elected politicians to start their own party. The Tea Party has zero concerns about the success of the GOP. I am happy business and the chamber stepped up this year and said enough. I belive the posters on here that do support the Tea Party believe that is the direction this country needs to go. That is their right, same as it it LG's right to believe Obama has the correct plan for American. IMO, both are wrong, I have the right to believe that we need a government that will sit down and try to sincerely reach agreements to better our nation, not divide it farther.
Well this is certainly an interesting perspective and an even more interesting time to speak up. Especially considering that Hillary was Secretary of State for over five years.
Exactly, just pointing out the absurdity like gramps said about having a certain letter by their name.
Not that absurd. You and I both know there are people that would cast a vote because of that (D) without ever hearing her open her idiot mouth.
But Lordy Mercy, I do with the DNC would nominate her to run in 2016. It would be the first time I registered for Twitter and followed each and every move of hers on the campaign trail for the never ending supply of remarks.
We thought Joe Biden was bad.
Seems to me that if Iraq and Syria can't keep rebels from fashioning a whole new country out of their territory then it is extremely unlikely we can.
Which didn't answer my question...
I don't disagree that it would be hard for us to remove them from the territory they already have. But you have to look at it from a long term perspective. Do you think ISIS is going to be happy with what they have? Or do you think they will continue moving south?
How long before they become a regional power that threatens the shipping lanes out of the Gulf? Takes over every other friendly nation there? How long before they present a strategic threat to the US? So the main question that should be on people's minds is "will they become a threat down the road and should we nip this in the bud while we have the chance?"
A lot of could be ' s and what ifs in there. I wouldn't think that they'd go from a few thousand guys with rpg's and driving around in station wagons to cross - Atlantic threat so fast that's it's either kill them all today or have them nuke us in 2020.
Better in my opinion to allow them to fight out their own battles and remove the resentment factor it seems we are experts at promoting.

So you do believe in a little "conspiracy".
I assumed that was your response, but wanted to see you say (type) it.
No conspiracy in the sense that the US or other western nations are deliberately encouraging jihad. However, just as Christianity was simply exploited and used as a ruse for so much violence in the 15th and 16th centuries, Islam is being exploited in the same way.

I think the days before the age of enlightenment get a pass.
Today though? There is no excuse.
