No they said that this year’s salary pool, $6.950 million, would have ranked second last year only to Ohio State. That’s not the case this year. Alabama’s staff is making $7.5 million and Ohio State is shelling out 7.2 million.

Spot on! Fromm was only 24 for 29 for almost 300 yards, 2 TDs, and no interceptions..

I’m tired of hearing “we don’t have the players”.......well no freakin duh.

Does Tennessee “have the horses to go 2 quarters”? Instead of just one?

What’s needed for those games Tennessee lost which were not Florida or Georgia?

How many players are needed to get lined up correctly all the time (I saw at least 5 times wrong in tonight’s game)?

How many players needed before the coach finally noticed he needed to start another QB?

How many players are still needed before the coaches will commit to running the football?

Love a coach all you want......but I’m tired of excuses when many things are within the coaches control. Sure Tennessee needs recruits to beat or even hang with Georgia and Bama, but they don’t need them to have their team ready and get them to improve on freakin basic things like tackling & lining up correctly.

If you didn't see improvement from the team in that game, you're ****ing blind. Georgia is the #3 team in the nation. Fromm is the real deal at qb. Sure we lost, but definitely showed improvement IMO, and it wasn't limited to Maurer.

Things Pruitt noted in his post game.....bad clock management, noted they did the same exact thing last year vs UGA and gave them points before the half. Mentioned they had defenders out of position on several plays that led to JF picking them apart. Said "you know" 36 times in 4 minutes.

Sadly, the only one we'll probably lose is Neids. He's grossly underpaid and our rivals can easily see that taking him away will torpedo our already anemic recruiting efforts.

Serious question. If you take away the strike to Calloway, how does this game feel? Maybe you saw more than I did. It just seems to me that a lot of people are putting way too much emphasis on 14-10. Maurer looked good at times, but his completion percentage was 50% and could've been worse without some real effort by the WR. UGA took control of the game in the 2nd Q with the 16 unanswered and nothing was ever really in doubt after that, way too early to say we were too gassed to compete.

MSU will be a good barometer. If this team is really improving, Vols should win that one.

As for offense, I hope Chaney didn't cost us Maurer for the rest of the season. The game was lost. Why the hell did he not back off on the deep stuff and just run the regular offense to get some work in? He knows our OL can't hang with UGA. He knows we don't have depth and are gassed by the 4th quarter. Run the damned ball. Use quick hitting throws. Don't give UGA a chance to tee off on Maurer and nuke the rest of our season along with beating us like a rented mule. Sorry, but Chaney shouldn't have put Maurer in that spot.

On the last drive when FCS Pruitt was trying to run out the clock and we miraculously drove the ball to the 5 Kirby Smart calls a timeout. Do you know why he called timeout? Because he has winners mentality. He wasn’t going to let FCS Pruitt put another score on the board.

You play to freakin win on every snap whether you are up by 30 or down by 30.

prophetic statement I have read of this than desirable board.. This is a Tennessee athletic board which has been turned into the lets seen who we can pile on today. After seeing Georgia's team, I am surprised we were able to hange with them as well as we did, especially in the first half.. They have the largest offensive and defensive lines I have ever seen in college football. In addition, they are extremely talented players with tons of experience. To make it worse, we had injuries during the game which shifted the talent level even more to the Georgia side. I wonder how many of our players will be able to play next week and then face the best team in the Nation next week. It would be interesting to compare the minutes played by Freshmen and red shirt Freshmen played by both teams and the same comparison for 3rd and 4th year players playing for both teams. We playerd most of the 4th quarter with offensive and defensive line players who have have seldom seen the field. I applaud the effort of those players. You talk about a joke, you are a bigger joke than any of those players who fought hard rather laying down on our team the way you and "your kind" have done. Scum of the earth.

We could play UGA 100 times and not beat them once. When the game was completely out of reach, you start preparing for the games you have a shot in. With Maurer, we have a shot at a bowl game albeit a slim one. Without him, Butuli or Henry T. you have zero shot. You don't put him in a position to get killed. Run the base offense in live conditions while limiting his exposure. Maybe it's against their backups, but they're likely much better than our starters, too. It's just realistic, smart football. Screw ego and this "loser mentality" BS. This team needs to win some games. This program needs to get to a bowl and show some progress. We need some excitement and positivity to recruit to. A healthy Maurer, Bituli and Henry T are keys to that happening. What Chaney did last night was stupid. That Pruitt let him do it is even more stupid. This season is more than one game against a vastly superior team.

It's that ages old thing I pointed out in another thread a week or so ago and got flamed for buy a few. Coaches are conditioned and stubborn about kids who practice the most and best play the most. That's why the JG IMO story is what it is. The problem is that's not always the case, lots of examples across a variety of sports of guys/gals that don't practice well or even take it seriously are game day warriors. It's the job of coaches to put the players on the field that give you the best chance to win, that incudes players that are practice day lackys but game day warriors. Coaches must figure that out and often come late to a player's coming out party that should have been playing all along. It's really the down fall of a lot of high school coaches, I've watched for decades kids sitting the bench and not playing much which are much better than the ones out there playing. When they finally get in and excel the light bulb comes on for the coach .... sometimes.
