High Hopes

I had high hopes we would beat Bama, Fla Or Georgia at least 1 of the three, but with what I saw last nite we are just average again. And can someone explain Pruitts obsession with JG to me. You cant make silk out of a sows ear.

Glad you started a new thread about this,it hasn't been talked about yet.

You can still hope we beat at least one of those.

We have exactly the same odds as we did before yesterday's games.

Yeah. They looked beatable for 38 minutes or so. Looked better once they switched QBs.
Looked better than Arkansas once they switched QBs yes. Arkansas hasn’t beaten an sec team since 2017. Didn’t expect them to beat Georgia in the first half.

Defense(and awful Arkansas offense) is what won it for Georgia.

JG over thrown his receivers multiple times last night and a few of those would have been TD passes. There is plenty of hope still that he actually hits his target after all he is playing the same as last year yet with little practice vs a normal season hopefully in game two he gets more accurate

Yeah I’m just over 5’9” but I’m hoping I’ll be 6’ by next week. After all I’m only 54.

Appears we're stuck with him too. Pruitt is not going to yank him and as bad as he is, he is also tough enough to not get hurt. He's never going to get any better and yet he will be there behind center next week. Nightmare that won't end.

I think in UT fashion as of late, we'll probably win one we're not supposed to, and drop one that we're supposed to win. But, even with that, I don't think last night was a huge surprise to most.

Someone threw up a VN preseason poll, and if I recall correctly, the majority of fans recognize we're still just a mid-tier team from the East.

Pruitt is doing a great job (re)building, but we're still building and our roster still isn't stacked like what one would see in a top-tier SEC team.

At least JG didn't throw a pick, and he actually ran the ball.

Which 3 overthrows would have been TDs? Talk about hyperbole at its finest, wow.

The big mistake I see over and over and over again on here is the overreaction to one game (whether it be us or a future opponent). No team brings it’s A-game (or B or C for that matter) every week. And, most teams improve the most from Week 1 to Week 2. I think this will hold even more true during this season.

I saw a lot last night that looked promising...and a lot to be concerned about. We really need these first two games, because the schedule really beefs up after that.

Who considers winning 8 of our last 9 a nightmare? I think it's a comedy that folks like you feel this way.

I’d say CJP thinks JG is less likely to make mistakes that cost us the game. Obviously he was wildly inaccurate at times but then followed those with some great throws - crazy inconsistent. He looks like he’s improved his foot speed this year so I hope they game plan some more running for him. No turnovers is good and i didn’t notice plays where he tried to force it. If he could just consistently hit the open guys on the short and intermediate routes we would have blown SC out.
