Yesterday against AP, a lot of weird things happened. We had a historically high number of drops (some on Milton) and some of the worst officiating since ole miss (2021).

While we didn’t score as many as we are used to, there are still a ton of positives. The defense has looked excellent and the running game has been unstoppable. Combine that with an All-American returner, and you’ve got a very dangerous team. We fix the passing timing and stop dropping passes and this team can beat anyone in the country.

This may be the worst year of SEC football in a long time. With our schedule this team came absolutely still win 10 games and possibly the East.

(PS. Don’t forget last year, Georgia was battling Kent State only up 10 points with 6 min left in the game. Kent State only won 5 games last year and Georgia still had a very successful season…)

RE SEC struggles: NIL doesn’t only move SEC toward more parity; it does the same nationwide. It probably eventually ends the SECs hegemony in College Football. Schools anywhere can spend money just as easily as we can if fans are willing to pony up.

Be careful of the cream puffs you put on the schedule. They can kick your butt if you don't bring your best game. Meanwhile, stop reading the pressers about how great you are and work on catching a pass

Context, perspective, and thoughtful consideration is not what VN does.

Thanks, I needed that.

seems like a lot of programs haven't full grasped the implications of NIL. They will look silly for leaving the Pac-12 just as their football teams are peaking.

One more time:
All of this hand-wringing. Yep, they played poorly and tomorrow is another day. I think Heupel is a good coach who knows what he is doing.
Our team's talent has improved, but we are still not quite there.
For some perspective, here is Nick Satan:

I feel like the SEC Hegemony has been in decline for over 10 years. I think a lot of it has to do with Saban and Smart scooping up all of the talent so that the rest of the SEC hasn't been able to recruit as well. In the 2000s, you had Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU, and sometimes even Tennessee during Fulmer era in the running. Alabama was kind of the weak link until 2008. 2012 was the last time that I saw a non-Alabama great SEC team (LSU) and there was parity at that time. 2017 it kind of came back with Georgia and Ed Odgeron LSU (although they were not consistent). Auburn and Florida even looked on the upswing from 2017-2019. Then last year you had Tennessee comeback.

However, SEC was heavily Alabama in mid 2010s and is now moving to a 1-team league with Georgia. This is something we once criticized the other leagues about: ACC with Clemson, B1G with Ohio State, Big12 with Oklahoma, Pac12 with USC under Pete Carroll.

The defense overall was not good. I'll be interested to see how someone with a better eye than I graded them but my casual eye didn't like what I watched.

Pass coverage was not good. Not sure why defenders can't look back for a ball.

AP had several sustained drives where they ran the ball right up our gut.

This said, Beasley is a beast.
