Hiestand interviewing at Notre Dame

Guys, this may not be good. Something is going on. I actually heard this same thing from a friend who was chilling with Zach Fulton on Sat. That Hiestand "wants out". There is something not right going on. On The DD Show last year, Hiestand seemed stoked about coaching the Vols, now he "wants out" possibly. I'm not hearing good things about the vibe on The Hill.

He wants out because nobody wants him here.

Through all the jokes, this does not look good for Tennessee if true. It would be 4 coaches if they take him. How do you expect to win 8 games "well if true" 5 games and losing coaches left and right?

Hiestand seems to be looking around. A lot of interviewing for a guy that wants to be at UT.

If true, it is good news IMO, but the overall effect of coordinators leaving and/or wanting to leave speaks to an underlying problem.

There is a lot of truth to this. Why these coaches wouldnt want to reap what they have sewn is beyond me. 1st - Baggett - I can see why he left,, he only has one of the most talented WR we have ever had and D. Rogers on the other side. 2nd/ 3rd - Wilcox and Sirmon - With Johnson and Maggitt having awesome freshman seasons and our secondary finally having a little depth, its no wonder they left. 4th - Heistand - only has one of the most talented o-lines (on paper) weve had in years. Something is wrong and I think it's spelled Dooley. It wont suprise me one bit for Thompson to leave too.

Eh, it would probably be what is smartest for him. You have to figure that his seat is as warm as dooleys going into next year. Considering that he could be out of a job if the team does poorly or if the team does well and his offensive line struggles, it is probably in his best interest to start off with a clean slate somewhere else if the opportunity presents itself.

Especially during the final days going in to signing day! Yep...Dooley is doing a fine job.

Really signing day is just a couple of days away? Last time I checked national signing day is in February and we are still in january. Seems like more than a few days away from national signing day. As long as the defensive spots are filled by this weekend we are fine. Losing heistand would not hurt recruiting like you want to insinuate, he is not really a factor in anybody we have committed or are recruiting.

Yeah, he's not good enough for UT. Hope ND isn't too embarrassing for him

Would be really easy to just start from scratch from here. Not that we would want to do that, just saying Chaney would probably stay if a new incoming HC would take him.

The unanswered question is why are they leaving. Is it just for better positions, more money, or is CDD hard to work with. I do remember in either the Vandy or KY. game, he blew up on one of his assistants when he, the assistant, encouraged him to challenge a call where it appeared TN recovered a fumble but didn't get the call. If that was a pattern, I could understand, but, if just an isolated incident, it shouldn't be a problem.
Whatever the situation, it doesn't bode well for the Vols this close to signing day.

Paul Longo - Director of Football Strength and Conditioning
Chuck Martin - Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks/Recruiting Coord.
Tony Alford - Wide Receivers
Scott Booker - Assistant Coach
Kerry Cooks - Co-Defensive Coordinator/Defensive Backs
Mike Denbrock - Tight Ends

same I guess since they don't have an OL coach

Hard to believe anyone would be interested in him as offensive line coach.
