Hey where's "Passing Game"

It makes me wonder what the receivers on this team think. They honestly have to be about as bored as we are watching TN run all game. I hope we don't keep up this offensive game plan or I could imagine a lot of these receivers would think about transferring to actually PLAY elsewhere. Your draft stock can't be going up if you never get the ball and, man, it has to be boring blocking most of the game. I love TN football, I am just so tired of watching this offense.

You can't pass the ball when the oline doesn't block.

You also can't pass the ball when you don't actually try to pass the ball. Jones' offense is the worst, most feckless offense I've ever seen. No top flight WR recruit should ever answer a phone, text, email or tweet from a member of this staff. Tennessee is where the careers of promising young WRs go to die.

Dobbs seemed to be a more effective passer last year. I'm not sure what the heck happened, but someone needs to find out. We have forty five star worth of wide receiver and a TE who in a legit offense would be a full on BEAST, but we can't seem to get them the damn ball !!!

Yes he was... even in the passing game. Debord changed it up, and is asking him to stay in the pocket more. Only after that fails 22 times is he permitted to do it the Dobbs way.

Need to find a consistent OL .... As far as the passing game, just find one. Offense has given the ball back to the opposing offense through style of play and ineffectiveness in putting points on the board. So the defense has to carry quite a load.

All that said, 5 for 5 on 4th down conversions .... Man.....

I'm so freaking frustrated right now, I know we should of done a lot better on offense you can't run the ball the whole time and not open up a passing game at some point in 4 quarters. I just new I was going to see P.Willams down field.
Don't you know by now? Our WR's are just decoys...decoys that every team now knows we won't throw to unless we get behind and HAVE to. If I were one of the starting WR's, I would be considering a transfer right now, if Debord remains the OC.

I think a lot of it is on Butch, too. He probably tells his grandpa not to throw it. What's the point in recruiting the 4 and 5* QB's and WR's if we aren't even going to use them properly?

OL sucks and can't protect dobbs.

I have not seen that. I've seen many a blown OL read on a CB bliltz, but with our attack offense, the QB has plenty of time to check on the blitz. Clear CB blitzes that any ANY half-wit QB would have read a hot-read on. I've debated this, but feel that QB Dobbs is too cerebral to make a hot read. When he sees blitz, he runs.

Also, feel that we have to explore the middle of the field past the stakes with someone besides Wolfe. He's a great weapon, but as soon has he bails to the sideline route, the opposing safeties become guided missiles for the flats.

Dormady is not the answer. Dobbs passed it well when he had the chance. He made a few clutch throws to give us our last td. Von dropped a big one early. The incompletions were pretty much throw aways when the line didn't pass block well.

Dobbs is the only reason we were in the game. With Dormady we lose by 20.

I disagree, but since we never gave him a shot we'll never know.
When a team becomes unidimensional you get beat

Dobbs is a single read passer at this point with a slow delivery . The coaches are clearly protecting him . Butch runs a layered west coast passing tree with power running from the spread . He is a balanced as you can get . There is a reason they are giving Dobbs single reads and relying on the running game . It is probably the same reason they did not want to start him over Worley . If they cant make Dobbs into the QB for their offense ...they need to make the offense for Dobbs

What is amazing to me is that Dobbs throws a very good ball in the middle of the field on the medium routes, but we don't use them until desperation mode and even then sparingly.

Dobbs kept us in the game with his ground game. His passing game against bout Oklahoma and Florida was terrible. He is a good ONE dimensional QB. We cannot win on SEC as being one dimensional. The only way we can win with a running game is too hit a few passes. We are loaded at WR, Dobbs gets rattled and cannot get them the ball, period.

"Our offense doesn't need to be rebuilt, it needs to be enhanced."

This was after hiring DeBord during the press conference.

Jones is getting his words shoved down his throat with each loss.

Jones' offensive knowledge and DeBord's expertise basically consists of a lot of name dropping and BS so far.
