LOL!!! We are called the plainsmen because Auburn is located on the plains of southeastern Alabama. Often referred to as the Loveliest Village on the Plains. War Eagle is our battle cry that comes from a story years ago at an Auburn football game. A man brought an eagle to a game once and it flew around the stadium I think after being startled by the crowd. And people started chanting Warrrr Eagle!!!! So it's only a battle cry. So we are the Auburn Tigers. I hope that makes some sense. Our War Eagle is kind of like your Rocky Top. Stories like these come only from the south huh?? Have a great day everyone!!!!
Thank you all for the warm welcomes. Our consensus about our new offensive coordinator Tony Franklin is that we are highly optimistic. We can't get much worse than we were last year with one of the worst offenses in the nation. Any slight improvement will be wonderful. The questionmark will be our defense under a new defensivive coordinator Paul Roads from Pitt. Can he continue to keep our defense tough? He comes from the Big East Conference where we all know those defenses gave up a ton of points. That's my concern. Go Volsss and Warrr Damn Eagle!!!
It might have been Adelphia back then, it's LP Field now, just to set the record straight. :good!: Going to Auburn is a great experience. I've been twice, once when I went with a Vandy bud, we caught the UA/Vandy 1st half slaughter at Legion Field, then drove to Auburn to catch the Auburn/Tn night game, a Pat Dye tie.Looking forward to going to Auburn for the first time this year. It will bring me to 8 of 12 SEC stadiums visited (9 if you count Adelphia Coliseum as Vandy home game).
Have they set a time for it yet?
