What are our chances with Alonzo Lawrence? He is coming to visit in January, and I think we could land this guy. Alabama is our biggest competition with this kid and they already have a very full class with 4 DB's. What do you think HV.

He is an extremely high riser and just blazed all over Julio Jones in their all star game. I think he is Bama's to lose, though I've heard he has major grade issues. He'd be a nice pull, though.

HV, While on the subject of chances, looks like we are in the final five for Jerrell Harris. Looks like he could be pretty good. Any possible chance we get him or even McCray? I'll take both please!

as of right now it sure doesnt look like we could pull anyone from Bama or Tennessee that Saban wants

What is it about saban and bama. If i were a recruit a wouldn't believe a word the man says. It's a screwed up world. Saban is a snakeoil salsman and every kid in america wants to play for him:crazy:

saban is a politician when it comes to recruiting. he makes empty promises and guarantees that don't hold water but 17 and 18 year olds eat them up.

he says whatever he has to, to get the recruits on campus.

so basically this year is shaping up to be one in which we going head to head with Slippery Rock for recruits.

Pretty much. It just depends on who we hire. Bama was in the same situation last year and it turned out okay. I think this class will turn somewhat like the 2006 class. Overall it will look bad, but there will be some solid contributors from it. It just depends on the character and grade issues that we get or don't get in this class.

HV, What about JC guys we are looking at, what are our chances with them? I've hear there might be one or 2 from Hargrave that might be interested. One was a DE I think.

Quinton Coples is the guy you are probably thinking about. We got a real good shot at signing him, i'm sure HV knows more about him.

Coples and Mackey. Both had us at leaders at one point. Now I don't think we are close to the top with either.

HV how are we looking with Michael McAdoo? And how good is he, because he's got a great frame?

I think he is more of a "potential" guy. His recruitment has been weird, but I think we are in pretty good shape.
