I grew up in Virginia. They were particularly annoying because I was born in 94, so my early days were their glory days and yuck...


90% of them are a-hole fake Virginia rednecks with goatee's sunglasses and a hat

I called either 7-5 or 8-4. I did think we could beat Pitt, and Ky was the toss up. No one is perfect😁

Huepel's remarks on the Music City show that the guy really does get it.
Make it a 'home' game and show up - the fans and the team both deserve it.
His comments also show how important it is for this staff to recruit well in the state of Tennessee - this bowl is a great opportunity to do just that.

Also for those belly-aching we didn't play in Florida - I believe in the last few years the Music City has paid out better than either of the two Florida based-bowls.
Couple that with lack of a big expenditure in air travel and the program should come out on the positive side of a very nice paycheck $$$

Why is someone with the screen name hokie coming on our board trying to stir up trouble? Not gonna end well for them. And he/she (guessing he) has been a member since 2010! I guess it's because the programs are headed in different directions. Tennessee has an upward trajectory, Virginia Tech, well not so much.

It's because of Freak. This fan platform has to be the best in the country. I don't have a problem with opposing fanbases visiting...it's just rude as hell to go in to someone else's house and be nasty. Visit, great...but be respectful when here.

I've had the pleasure of going to two Vols vs vt football games (both wins of course) and have been trying to figure out what is a 'hokie'. Well with help from my friends we did it. A 'hokie' is a neutered turkey, it can't get the job done.

Every time we play them it would be awesome to take a Turkey call, cut lose every 3rd down. It would be a phenomenal event if the majority of the fanbase would do it.

Meanwhile, for your enjoyment: a brief history of sports at Virginia Tech!

They were in the Southern Conference with Tennessee for 11 years (1921-1932), until Tennessee left when the SEC was established. And man did our paths diverge.

Tennessee? In the SEC ever since. But Virginia Tech, oh Virginia Tech...

Virginia Tech (1921-1965): This is fine. The Southern Conference is totally fine. Yep.

Virginia Tech (1953): Hey ACC, can we play?
ACC: Nah, we're good.

Virginia Tech (1965): Screw it. Let's be independents.

Virginia Tech (1977): Hey ACC, can we play?
ACC: Nah, we're good.

Virginia Tech (1978): Hey Metro Conference, can we play? Not football though.
Metro Conference: Yeah, sure.

Virginia Tech (1991): Hey Big East, can we play football with you?
Big East: 'kay.

Metro Conference (1995): So this is awkward... we're gonna go form Conference USA, and you're not coming.
Virginia Tech: (sues Metro Conference)

ACC (2004): So yeah, the SEC is bigger than us and we're going to raid the Big East and take you and Miami and Boston College. We good?
Virginia Tech: THANK GOD FINALLY.
