Your thread title is confusing. That's likely what wmcovol is referring to. The title references year 2 but the poll is about year 1.
People should read the entire thread before commenting. The poll question and very 1st comment makes it obvious and it's not like it's a lot of reading to do.

Yeah the poll and question are two different questions to me. I’m fine with year 1. I’m waiting on year 2.

I think you could add a few more selections - just yes or no is pretty black and white. Maybe, pleased but needs to improve in areas, too early to tell, and so on. Yes or No is pretty vague.

Let’s wait till Dec 2022.

I’m tickled our recruiting has hit the strides it needs to in order to perform at the top levels of the SEC. However until we start putting Ws up against Florida, Bama, and UGA we’re just pushing a rope uphill. Reminder, we did not even cover the spread against those 3 last season. Heupel deserves most of the credit for last year, but never forget the youngster he didn’t recruit named Hooker and benched came in and saved his season.

Yes, I like Heupel and, yes, he has a great attitude that has generated excitement with the program. I’m glad he’s our coach and he’s the most likeable coach we’ve had, maybe in my lifetime. However, I think it’s too soon to make a statement about his performance. We went 7-6 which is close to what we’ve averaged the past 15 years. Some of his predecessors had a year or two that was comparable. I love the fact that we scored a lot but I’m still not sold on the defense and I’m concerned that it’s all or nothing with the fast pace without flexibility for slowing things down when necessary. I think CJH made some clock management errors last year by not being flexible enough to slow down. Likewise, his play calling didn’t make any sense in several games. The 3 games we lost we all winnable and a great coach finds a way to win them. I give him a mulligan for his first year but expect him to learn from his mistakes this year and at least win one game we’re not supposed to.

Of course I voted yes but that doesn’t mean I don’t have any concerns or want to see improvements

He always improves from year 1 to 2 so we are about to find out. My main concern is DC , has been from the day he was hired

How could you not approve of Heup. Seriously we were a heartbeat away from 9 wins. We overachieved all season. Lots of people said we were a 3 win team. Heup turned Hooker into a darkhorse Heisman contender and he just landed a generational QB. The highest rated QB we've gotten since Casey.

We couldn't be in a better spot after the first year.

I’m very excited about Heupel’s first year. He did a great job. The offense was great under him. This second year should be more scoring, I do believe. I’m sure this offense has learned a lot in some football games that slowed them down. I think like the second quarter, there were some slow downs where they couldn’t score, but I thought they had fixed that problem later on the the 2nd quarter. I thought there were some scoring droughts in the 4th quarter as well. If we can correct some of these scoring droughts a little more, then we are going to be a scoring machine.
