Heupel should come out and say the loss is on him for many reasons.
1. He started Milton who can’t hit the broad side of a barn at 20 yards. With Hooker in the game from the start, Hooker hits the seam down the middle for a TD and at least one of the other horribly overthrown long balls would’ve been caught. Milton should never sniff a game field again.
2. Discipline. Having nearly 3 times the penalties as the other team is one of many ways to lose a game.
3. 4th and 1/2 yard with 5 minutes left and everyone with an IQ above 60 knew there was a 90% chance he’d call the RB up the center and guess what. They were right. The ball is turned over on downs and the Vols lose a very winnable game. That was a very Pruitt / Dooley type play call.

If Hooker would’ve started the game our Vols would’ve won by 10 or more.

Be interesting to see if he takes most of the blame or throws players under the bus. Course all the stupid penalties are not on him but all the other stuff is.

I’d pay good money for someone to have a set of balls and ask wtf the non review was on the 4th down stopped marked 2 yards short then for fun, ask wth he was thinking on the shotgun formation on 4th and 6 inches. Cause that was some deer in the headlights chit

You hire average coaches, expect average results.
You know the type of TV show where each new season is too similar to the last one; new bad guy, same story? I feel like that's this program. Every Tenn game and season is just a slightly different version of the same thing lol.
You ever say anything positive?

Average coaches who win 78% of their games ?

Impossible to know. The coaches in the press box are supposed to let him know to throw the challenge flag. May never know if they did and he opted against or if they didn't let him know in time.

Heupel is handling his communications with the media and accountability far better than any of the last 3 coaches so far.

He speaks clear English which is better than Pruitt.

He isn't a self deluded arrogant douche like Jones.

He isn't trying to prove he is the smartest guy in the room like Dooley with the historical analogies.

That being said, I want to see mistakes corrected on the field in the coming weeks. Winning the press conferences are secondary.
